Great navigation app!

A coworker recommended that I use the built-in Maps app for driving to a client's house. I packed a printout of directions, too - just in case.

15 minutes in, I missed my turn. Where that exit come from? Pulled into a parking lot, opened this app, and was able to arrive nearly on time.

I love this app. Hard to believe it's free, but it is. Gives turn-by-turn directions, knows to recalculate if you miss a turn or need to take a detour, and if you're playing music (I connect the headphone jack to the van's stereo system), it lowers the volume of the music to announce directions. I love it!

Only thing I'd point out: don't trust the directions blindly. It looks like it announces turns based on where it figured you should be - if you speed up, slow down, or stop altogether, it'll tell you to turn way too early. Still, I'd say it's still one of my favorite apps on my phone.

Great app, needs smarter code...

I have a 40 mile ride to work. I am a rover, so I work every shift you can imagine.

For those days I have to drive to work during rush hour, this app is incredibly useful!

It can get me to work, all back roads, in less time than it would take for me to drive in via the highway. The best part, NO bumper to bumper traffic!

In some ways, this is the most useful app for the iPhone. In other ways it certainly needs smarter code to become more user friendly.

This app is trial and error, try different routes by forcing it to re route you (by taking a turn or avoiding a turn).

I use this app as a tool to discover faster alternate routes and to get around unexpected highway delays.

It would be helpful if you could avoid highways either up to a certain point or at a certain point. This is where smarter code comes in handy.

Mapquest, would your engineers develop a way to allow us to save a route we just travelled?

Let's say you get to your destination, and you love the way you got there but you can't remember exactly how you did it. Being able to save that route would be a time saver and a stress saver!

I'm sure a lot of people who use this are commuters and they know where the trouble spots are and which areas they would like to avoid.

I hope Mapquest continues to upgrade this app. You're already ahead of your competition. Keep up the good work!

Love it!

A friend recommended this App to me after I was complaining that the only thing I missed with my old droid phone was the google navigation which I loved... I had downloaded several navi apps ( several which cost me money) and still wasn't satisfied ... Until I found this one! Works great! Text to speech! FREE! :-)
