Favorites:
If you would like to refer to an abbreviation easily in the future, tap on the star at the top of the screen and the abbreviation will be added to your favorites list. To see your favorites, just tap the Favorites button at the top of the list of abbreviations.
Wikipedia search:
Abbreviations commonly have multiple associated terms. When you view the details of an abbreviation, each term is shown separately. Tapping a term will search in Wikipedia for and display the matching result or a list of possible results. The mobile version of Wikipedia is used to minimize downloading times and optimize viewing on the iPhone or iPod Touch.
Customer Reviews
Minim listing of Med Abbreviations
This is a relatively good listing of abbreviations specific to medicine. However, there tend to be more omissions than you would expect for a paid app. The database is severly lacking depending on the specialty such as Ob/Gyn. My biggest gripe is that you can't add your own abbreviations. This seems pretty intuitive for a paid app given some people make up their own abbreviations. This has to be in the next update, don't buy this app until that feature is added or else you'll be regreting the purchase.
Palliative Physician
Nice app, easily worth the 99 cents. Search feature is useful. Can the next update distinguish Joint Commission approved from unapproved abbreviations?
Needs ROS in notes
For the 5th star:
Include ROS as a separate category under notes, and charge a buck more!
Include those "a with a bar", "c with a bar", and others derived from Latin. They're in the screen shot but not in the app.
Reverse lookup would earn another dollar or two.
Great way to finance your education! Always keep in mind your patients' welfare (26 years in practice). Even when you just don't know, you can still help by caring.
