Here's my story, bear with me because this morning was a life revelation, I discovered something really important...
My wife is a classical piano soloist, professional. I hear her practicing all the time, but I'm not a musician. I'm a systems analyst, quite left-brained, and my wife as a pianist and composer is quite right-brained. So, in playing this game, how well did she do matching instruments? Good. How did she do in matching rhythms? Poor! ???
How could this be, I wondered? I am now convinced that it takes special training of your mind, both the right and left brain sides, to recognize and remember rhythms and timbres (distinguishing between instruments). We now both plan to learn, by using this app, and it ought to be fun.
Everyone seems pretty good at melodies, but on rhythm and timbre you'll need to test yourself with this game. Despite it's name, it's strength is not melody; for learning to recognize and remember a string of notes, I recommend the app Melody Memory, very nice.
But for learning to recignize and remember rhythm and timbre, try this beautifully polished app. You might discover something yourself, and have a chance to develop your latent skills in an area that will reward you with much enjoyment.
I rarely write reviews, hope you found thus helpful.
By the way, the "average" rating is no way to judge apps, if you consider the people who took time to review this app, almost everyone rated it four or five stars. Who cares about those who discarded the app because it challenged them (giving it a one star), when, if you've read this far, you obviously want the challenge, as an opportunity to learn.

This is the best app on my touch so far, Im just about to buy the full version. You guys have to download this it's by far the best. It's so addictive.
