Description
MidiBridge is a backgroundable virtual MIDI patchbay/router that interconnects all MIDI interfaces (external, virtual and network) on an iOS device at a fraction of the cost of equivalent hardware.
Supported external interfaces include Line6 Midi Mobilizer I and Midi Mobilizer II, Akai SynthStation 25, IK Multimedia iRig MIDI and all other CoreMIDI devices that are compatible with iOS via the USB camera kit on iPad. For CoreMIDI support, iOS 4.2 or greater is required. Now also supports virtual CoreMIDI interfaces.
Use MidiBridge to:
- Connect any external MIDI equipment to a remote computer or other iOS device (iOS > 4.2) wirelessly
- Interconnect MIDI interfaces of other apps and devices and filter/split/merge
- Clone MIDI data from any input to any set of outputs
- Filter incoming MIDI data on each input
- Filter outgoing MIDI data on each output
- Merge incoming inputs to one or more outputs
- Split incoming MIDI data (using filters) across any set of outputs
Other features:
- Backgroundable (NB By default this option is Off to prevent battery drain)
- Jitter Reduction/Sync feature
- Drump remap (CH10 -> CH1-4) feature
- Events can be filtered by type (Note/Program/Controller/Sysex/Aftertouch/TimeSong) and MIDI channel
- MIDI interface ports can be given a user friendly name

Suggested uses for MidiBridge include:
- Use the original Line6 Midi Mobilizer with newer apps. Other app must have CoreMIDI Net/Virtual support. Can be backgrounded if using iOS 5.
- Connect your battery operated keyboard/drum controller (or SynthStation 25) into your iOS device and connect it wirelessly to perform on stage with no cables.
- Connect a MIDI transport surface wirelessly to your computer and move around your studio controlling your DAW transport with no cables.
- Duplicate MIDI events from one external device to another and to a remote MIDI destination wirelessly at the same time.
- Use as an inline MIDI filter, cloner, merger or splitter
- Connect apps that have CoreMIDI network support but no virtual MIDI support to virtual ports by connecting to 'localhost' to create a loopback virtual interface.

MUST HAVE APP!!!
OK-Now I can control Nanostudio on my Ipad from Thumbjam on my Ipod wirelessly with MIDIBRIDGE.Nough said! The support is great too.I emailed a few questions and nic got back to me the same day and addressed all of my concerns.Can't wait to delve deeper with Animoog,Stepolyarp,Geosynth etc.Midibridge is well worth the money and definitely rates 5 stars!
My Synthstation25 is useful once again!
Okay, so I was always able to use the SS25 with NanoStudio, which is the music production app I use 90% of the time anyways, but I was getting severely bummed that all these great new performance synths were coming out that had no SS25 support.
All that has now changed. MidiBridge is the Bee's Knees. I can now use SunrizerXS, Addictive Micro, Garageband, SampleTank, Pocket Organ and Organ+ all with my SS25 via MidiBridge. This app simply rocks. No discernable latency, either.
To note: I had to upgrade to iOS 5 (or 5.0.1) in order to get the SS25 to work with these through MidiBridge. This functionality won't work with anything earlier than iOS 5. The dev was very helpful, too, in pointing that I needed to connect the SS25 kbd In port (within the MidiBridge App) to the MidiBridge Out port.
I know that there any many other uses for this app, but for the ability to use the SS25 with these other apps, it was easily worth the price of admission.

Thank you so much! I was about to sell my Synthstation25 thinking there was no more hope in new app support, but by chance I stumbled upon your application. Now all music apps which support CoreMidi work with the SS25 with simple ease, extending the lifespan of the little beast. 10 stars!
