The famed writer Nathaniel Hawthorne has died during a freak snow storm, and his ghost has come to you, asking for help. Optimized for the iPad, Salem Witch Trials features a cool zoom element that allows you to get up close with each setting. Travel back and forth in time from the scene of the author’s demise to the 17th century, where a town is going mad with rumors of witchcraft and a woman is facing accusations and the gallows. Explore the spooky terrain and structures of Salem village inside and out, interview ghosts, solve brain-teasing puzzles and collect hidden objects.
Search for collectible clovers in each scene to unlock unlimited hidden object mode! Scour scenes for ravens to use as hints along the way. Or, use your lantern to figure out the shape of the object you’re searching for.

Like interacting with a gripping suspense novel right as it is occurring
I was introduced to "hidden object" challenges by bumping into Midnight Mysteries: Salem Witch Trials when it was only a buck. (So far, that happens every year for just a week.) That app quickly became and has stayed my absolute favorite iOS game. Its recently released sequel, Midnight Mysteries: Devil On The Mississippi, is just as fantastic of a journey. (In case you were wondering, these apps do include mild elements of horror, yet they primarily focus on the relevant history and are not vulgar, distasteful, or offensive to religious folks.)
Playing either of these two "experiencing literature" apps is like interacting with a gripping suspense novel right as it is occurring. Both apps place you far back in U.S. history, and each has: gorgeous graphics, plots based on both real events and relevant novels, real-life characters and their ghosts, interactive conversations and puzzles, lots of objects to pick up and use, and lots of hidden object challenges. The first deals with author Nathaniel Hawthorne and the second deals with author Mark Twain. For context, the original app in the "Midnight Mysteries" series was made for PC's before the iPad was available, and the subject was author Edgar Allen Poe. The "Salem" app is technically number two and the "Mississippi" app is number three.
A "guide" to each plot is sold as an in-app purchase for an additional three dollars each, and is definitely worth it in both cases. Called a "Collector's Edition", it includes: sketches from the plot's creation, detail about deleted scenes, a very detailed visual walkthrough that includes many "easter eggs", and instant access to every animated sequence. Complete the story perfectly and you gain access to even more content, including all of the hidden object challenges, so that you can try to beat your best time in each one.
One of the best games ever!
I loved this game. It was hard enough to keep you entertained but not so hard you weren't able to play. I also love the fact that you can find hints through out and there is the secondary search for the shamrocks.
Graphics are great and the story line is interesting. Looking forward to more!

I loved this. Not Insultingly easy either but you can generally play without help. The story was subtle and cool... like watching a history channel documentary.
