Not Ready For Primetime
Okay, so the point of this app is for DJs to perform live, or record mixes or practice mixing. In all three cases, that's not really possible if the app keeps crashing. Multitasking support needs some major improvements. As well, tracks load too slowly and the track listing doesn't allow me to see the BPMs I have in my iTunes. That's hugely important. For hands on scratching, the app should allow for a single-deck zoom feature. Perhaps a Bluetooth link to a second iPad for one deck per unit mixing, too?
If this can stop crashing so I can actually use it, I'll give it 4 stars. Speed up the track loading and let me see BPMs and I'll go to 5...
Still needs work
I really want to like this app. There's a lot of great ideas here. The problems are:
- It takes too long to load a new tune from the music library. This makes it impossible to change your mind and could cause you to miss the end of the current song.
- The song that is playing skips when you try to load a new song onto the other turntable. This is unforgivable in a DJ app that you may want to use in a public setting.
Please fix these problems and I will love this app.
Not great. Just the crate.
The library manager is the only highlight of this app. File analysis takes up too much room and the decks are not very 'fluid' or real sounding. Algoriddim's Djay is 100% better for performance and recording quality mixes.
