Never mind the whining
This is one hell of a game! Retro-gaming at its best. Go on, buy it. You definitely won't regret!
Extremely Entertaining
The voice acting and dialog are perfectly done, and I can't recall the last video game I've literally laughed out loud at this many times.
Besides the story, the game itself is quite enjoyable. The interface is confusing at first, but with practice it becomes perfectly manageable. Most of the fun comes from searching for clues and items and figuring out uses for them. Stumbling upon a new item or hidden area is insanely gratifying.
I've been playing for over an hour and a half, and have yet to run into any bugs or game crashes. Also, the game says I'm only 7% through the game, so it looks like it has a good 15 hours of gameplay, which is insane for five bucks.
I highly recommend this to anyone looking for an exceptionally well made iPad game.
This game is unfinished
I just bought both of the Monkey Island games. The first time I played it on the iPad it worked for 10 whole minutes before it crashed. Now neither of the games move beyond the title screen and when they do it is without sound and freezes almost immediately after.
Another extra weird thing, when I downloaded the two games a strange app icon appeared. It is all white and is impervious to being deleted. I don't know what THAT is about but I wouldn't have bought these games if I knew how many major bugs and glitches remained in both of them.
LucasArts, just because you can supply updates for your games doesn't mean you should put a game out that is clearly only half baked. Freezing after the title screen sounds hardly baked at all. I expect more from LucasArts.
