Description
Mote Massacre is a variation of Tower Defense for the iPhone and iPod Touch. Players place offensive towers onto a field to prevent incoming units (called motes) from reaching the other side of the field. Three different classes of towers may be strategically placed and upgraded. Only a limited number of motes may cross the field.

Miscellaneous Additions:
- 5 New field background graphics
- 'Free Upgrade Targets' appear randomly on the field as green arrows. When it appears you have 10 seconds to use the free upgrade otherwise it expires and disappears.
New towers:
New towers will be accessible via an Advanced Technologies Base-Tower. This tower will be free to build and will allow advanced upgrades to the tower. These upgrades are:
- Rapid Fire Tower: Increases nearby tower firing speed down-to 50% of the tower's unmodified firing speed
- Anti-Air Sonic Wave Tower - blasts nearby flying motes away from the tower stunning them momentarily (only works on air motes, also does damage)
- Poison Towers (Ranks 1 to 4) - Hurls poisonous balls towards motes dealing an area of damage. Motes within the poison are momentarily slowed. This tower has a very long range.
Three new sandbox modes:
- Rocket Apocalypse
- Free-play mode: Build all towers free of resource cost.
- Grounded Motes Only: Air motes are disabled
Balancing Changes:
- Timed Block has been removed and is now replaced as a Time Freeze Tower: Stops time for both towers and motes, allowing you to place towers without needing to rush. Your score is decreased every second you use this tower to your advantage.
- Resistance penetration of higher ranked and tiered towers have been reduced significantly. A variety of tower types will be necessary to succeed.
- The duration of the stun caused by Tier 2 Explosive Tower has been increased to 2 seconds (from 1 second).
- Rocket and Frost towers have had their stats modified to factor in the number of effected motes

Very addicting. Developer quick to respond to my emails
I wasn't familiar with Tower Defense games but because of the comments by TD fans here, I google it and played a flash version on the web and a smile quickly came to my face. I became an instant fan and the allure of playing it on the go was all almost all I needed for me to buy it. I wrote the developer and he quickly responded with some new features that he's working on coming up in 1.1 (additional towers, mote health bars, easier tower removal, etc) and he asked me to write him for suggestions. His response convinced me to buy it now as-is and I'm glad I did. It's probably in my top 3 most addicting games on the iPhone now. My suggestion is buy it and enjoy the heck out of it now, (especially if your a TD newb like me) and then get skilled enough to appreciate the 1.1 features when it gets updated. Great game and am looking forward to 1.1.. Now I'm off to design my ultimate anti-Mote defense grid ;)
Tower Defense!
Man, I love tower defense games... been playing on Warcraft III for a while...
Your objective is to build "towers" to kill the "motes" and prevent them from entering the hole at the bottom of the screen. Each mote has a weakness and you have to place different element towers across the board (no real strategy here, just make a maze so the motes don't get to the bottom that quickly and you have plenty of time to kill them). The mazing system works fine - it won't let you block the path. They don't attack you either (they should in case you were able to block their path, but in this case it's just a maze-tower defense).
There are only 3 types of tower and there's this "timed" tower that will vanish after you upgrade it (to clear the path). I'm looking forward for the update, where 2 new towers will be available (and hopefully more stuff too).
Each wave of motes gets more difficult to kill them - although you can't see their hit points, they get stronger and faster. You have to upgrade your towers for more damage and speed attack rating.
For the 99 cents price tag, this is a must-have. To the developer: please add some more info about tower damage/speed, motes hit points and weakness, etc.. That would be great! GUI improvement is also welcomed! Nice job!
Edit: Finally the update arrived!!! The game feels fresh again! UI has been improved, new towers, NEW field types (starting/ending positions), NEW enemies, you can now resume the game!!! Whether you were complaining about it on its release or not, you should now try this. And it is still .99c!!!
Great Tower-D Game; Very Addictive!
Highly addictive Tower-D game. The gameplay is smooth, challenging, and fun. I didn't experience any of the bugs other reviewers commented on. I'm pretty sure the clock tower is designed to blow up. Best part of all, can't go wrong for the price. A field grid would be a nice addition to a future version, but I don't think the lack there of is any reason to hold back on buying this one now.
