Nice Update
I only started playing with the improved navigation stuff, but it seems promising. Great app. A slight learning curve, but once you have it set up and all, it is great. I love the ability to pre cache maps.
When I go on long bike rides, I always pre cache the route, and keep MotionX running. If it is less than a 5 hour ride, I can usually just run off the iPhone 4 battery and know I have enough juice for an emergency call. If it is longer, I take along a USB batter extender so I never have to worry.
My only comment would be to explain a bit more how to send to MotionX GPS. It isn't documented (yet) on the website. It took me a bit to figure it out
MotionX
I've had other GPS's, and this one by far is the best! I wish I would have got this one first. It is very easy to use, and then send to my e-mail to have on my PC to plot, and share. I use this while ATVing in Pennsylvania. It's great to show all my friends on Facebook where the trails are.
Great for bicycling and photography
I use this every day to track my bike ride to work- aside from displaying my route on a map, and being able to share it (which is awesome), it has a specific mode for bike riding. It shows the time tracked, shows me my average speed, highest speed, and tracks elevation throughout my ride. I usually throw it in my backpack- I like the countdown feature that gives you a moment to do this and start riding. I've used it once or twice for the same thing while driving just to play with it. I've also read up on the .gpx file format it uses, and I plan on trying to export this to geotag photos this summer.
