Before you see a movie:
• Do a quality check and see what the critics think. The Metascore™ distills the reviews and opinions of the most respected movie critics into a single, easy-to-understand number.
• Find theaters and show times in your area or just about anywhere.

-- Use augmented reality to locate theaters close to your current location and display the next movie showtimes (requires an iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS with location services enabled).

Great app.
Wth. You people are idiots. You probably didn't change the preferences to outside of an 8 mile radius.. This app works completely fine.. I downloaded it last minute to use to go see a movie today and it was exactly what I was looking for. Stop blaming the app just cause you are too stupid to use it. Smh.
I'm also disappointed.
LOVE metacritic! Was waiting for the app. I DO like being able to search by scores. But the location device (EVEN when changed to 50 miles) does not show ANY theaters. Even if searched by name. There are 6 movie theaters within 1 mile of me. Hopefully it's a bug they can fix!

I agree with the general consensus. All of us movie buffs who came on the app store to search for "metacritic" were expecting, and hoping for, something a little more representative of an iPhone-friendly portal to the website and all of its joys. Were we to find that in this app, we would of course also utilize it for finding new movies to watch in the theaters. (We are, after all, movie buffs.) But, for that purpose alone, there are other established apps on the market already doing it better. So why try to do what they do? You should do what YOU do best! We find that to be self-evident… duh.
