Great free app
I really do not understand all those negative comments. If you have constructive feedback write a mail to the support and do not give an app one star reviews! Maybe you should also test it more than just a few minutes and give an app a chance to show its possibilites!
I have downloaded it, added my IM clients (Skype/ICQ/MSN/Facebook/StudiVZ) and experienced no significant problems. Had an "ICQ cannot connect because too many people are connecting"-error but that's it.
The sound quality via Skype is good. SkypeOut contacts saved in my contact list are displayed too and I can make SkypeOut calls to them via WiFi.
Connectivity is really quick. I can see who is online much quicker than compared to fring.
Some people are complaining about the numbes as IM-names, however, after the contact has been online (while you are online) they are displayed by their display name as in facebook, ICQ etc.. Thus if you're friends come online while you are the issue should be solved. Would appreciate if Nimbuzz is able to fix it though.
There is a known issue with Yahoo IM, but they are working on an update.
Push feature: Apple does not allow an app to run in the background. However, I have read that Nimbuzz is working on a "push feature" like IM plus and Beejive and wants to stay free for its users, which would be amazing!
I would really appreciate a dialpad to do SkypeOut calls like in Fring. Then the app would be perfect.
Skype calls
If you need it for backup Skype calls don't bother. It only dials your contact list. Without a keypad you can't make new calls on the go.
1.5.0 killed this app
Before v1.5.0 this was the best IM app available for the iPhone. I tried many others including Fring and Beejive, and Nimbuzz has the best feature set and cleanest interface. What really sold me was the Skype and SIP integration.
However, since the 1.5.0 update, the app is unusable. The new chat log feature added a bug that just eats memory and causes the app to crash after about 10 minutes of use (or just a few seconds if you try to open a chat session with a big log). Fix the logging feature and this app will be back on top.
