Better than a paper Bible
I originally bought this app to use on my iPhone for travel. I now use this app daily - and leave my paper Bible at home. The major power is in all the additional (free) data downloads that you can get with it. I really like that I can push down on a Bible verse and have the original Greek or Hebrew come up using Strongs. In addition, it has a Bible dictionary and multiple commentaries. I am also very happy that it has the M'Cheyne Bible reading plan and Spurgeons Daily notes.
I have used the tags and margin notes on occasion, and they work as well as writing in your Bible. I also really like the search function. I bought the NIV version, but down loaded all the other English versions too. Now I have a parallel testement series.
In all, I am really excited about having an extremely powerful Bible study tool that I can take with me absolutely anywhere. Thank you to the developers. The only thing I can think of to add is more commentaries.
Good, but...
Defiintely the best in my opinion. The fact that it syncs with a web interface is HUGE!!! That's why I decided to go with this bible app.
Regarding the Notebook...
It definitely feels like an afterthought. It was a feature that I requested, and I'm glad to see that the developers responded by adding it. However, it is simply too difficult to work with right now. You have go back to the app home in order to access the notebook. There is no way to quickly add notes to it while reading the bible. The notebook should be accessible from anywhere in the app and you should be able to jump to the text, and back to the notebook to continue taking notes. You're much better off using an app like Evernote to take your notes. Just switch between that an the bible.
Margin notes...
Why is a slider used for this? It's annoying and difficult to get it to the exact verse I want to comment on. We should be able to comment on a range of verses as well. I think the highlight/copy/margin note functionality could easily be integrated into a single tool. Select the text, or type in the verse range, and then click a button for highlight, copy, or note.
I just think some more thought could go into the usability of the great tools that are available!
Great app but?
My only hang up about this app is the search feature! I think instead of having to scroll through every instance of a key word I am searching for, you should have the search results listed with touch tabs by book, chapter and verse! I should not have to start in Matthew and scroll all the way through the whole new testament to get to the key word I am looking for in revelations!
Can you please update and make this function more efficient?
