*** NotifyMe vs. Reminders vs. Siri: http://notifymecloud.com/switch ***

NotifyMe lets you create simple or recurring reminders very quickly. It's very easy to use, yet also provides many advanced features. Launch NotifyMe and start typing your reminder right away. The interface is optimized for quick daily and on the go usage. You can configure how NotifyMe starts so it fits your typical usage. NotifyMe is fully cloud-based — when a reminder is due, the notification pops up with an alert sound on iPhone, Mac or iPad (iPad and Mac apps sold separately).

MAIN FEATURES:

Useful, but annoyingly buggy

I'm trying-out this app again after uninstalling it a long time ago: its prior functionality wasn't very useful for me, but the software update and its applicability for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac was a major plus. It's also MUCH easier than using the native iPhone alarms for little reminders, plus you can add alarms via a web application, and I love that the alarms repeat every X number of minutes until you mark it done.

I also like that it asks you if you are sure if you want to mark something as done.

My major complaint is that it is very buggy. Besides the fact that I am a little on the fence about the main startup page (it just seems like not the best option to me), it drives me insane when the screen goes crazy and I see overlapping text and crazy interface. It often freezes and acts strange, disallowing the checking off of a reminder. I often cannot mark something done or stop a repeating alarm from repeating itself. This has caused me to use the app less.

Lastly, one request is that it would be nice to have options for longer alarm sounds or one that doesn't ever stop sounding until you stop it (like a replacement for the iPhone alarm clock).

Wow! (Again)

I can't believe how much I use this app. I thought it would be redundant with reminders in iCal but this app is a keeper - I use it almost daily. The simplicity and web interface are perfect. That was my review on 9/20/09.
NOW - I use this app constantly - much quicker than entering everything into a calendar and definitely worth being a first page app. The power, flexibility, and simplicity are awesome. I'm a school teacher and this app is a life saver!!!!!

Better Than Reminders in iOS 5 and Lion 10.7.2

I have been using the app for about a year and a half on my iPhone and iPad. I had previously submitted a very positive review and wanted to relate my experience using it compared to Apple's Reminder application. I've never had NotifyMe fail to pop up an alert on all of my devices that have the app installed. I do have to say that I prefer using the web application rather than the Mac App Store version which I have on my laptop, I find it more attractive and efficient to use. That's my only quibble with this software.

When OS 10.7.2 and iOS 5 were released I was quite curious to see how the Reminder app would compare to NotifyMe and wondered whether it would make it redundant. Well Reminders is easy enough to use, not quite as easy as NotifyMe but easy enough. The biggest issue is that the alerts do not sync reliably across my devices that all sync to iCloud - a Macbook Pro, an iMac, iPad, and 2 iPhones. I've played with this for several days now and the alerts pop up reliably on the device they were set on but very inconsistently to the synced devices. Inconsistent enough that I would never rely on it for something very important. Most of the time the only way you'll see an alert on another device is to manually open iCal or the Reminders app. When you do you will see it in the app window. It's a curious situation because when either my wife or I schedule iCal calendar events with a scheduled alert they do pop up reliably across all devices and we do rely on those. But at this time it's much easier to launch NotifyMe, schedule an alert and be comfortable knowing that whatever device I'm using at the moment I will get the message.

Through several of the updates NotifyMe has added enough features to make it sophisticated enough for just about anyone. My needs are fairly simple and I don't use the extra features much but I demand that the app be reliable and easy to use which is why I have and will continue to use it.
