Description
Welcome, USA Today readers! For this week, PanoLab Pro is available for $2.99, down from the usual price of $4.99.
---------------------------
PanoLab Pro is an advanced tool for creating multi-frame panoramas on the iPhone. PanoLab Pro uses the same intuitive, multi-touch interface as the free version of PanoLab, but also includes powerful new features for creating high-quality compositions. PanoLab Pro's exclusive features include:
- Document saving: save any number of in-progress panoramas for editing or showing off in 3D
- Export options: export panoramas in a wide range of aspect ratios and resolutions, from 640x480 to 1920x1080
- Exposure adjustment: adjust the exposure and white balance of individual photos, or let PanoLab do it automatically
Unlike collage applications, PanoLab applies perspective correction and linear projection to make many photos from one viewpoint align into a cohesive wide-angle view.
Unlike other panorama applications available for iPhone, PanoLab joins photos both vertically and horizontally, and can combine as few as 2 or as many as 30 images.

A fun photography tool, with some advanced settings under the hood
It's very relaxing to go out and shoot a little panorama or cluster of photos, then sit down on a park bench for a couple minutes and arrange them... or, if you're in a rush, stitch them in Panolab sometime later.
This application is definitely the most *fun* way to make creative panoramas, on the spot, with a lot of control over the final output.
The basic panolab app doesn't provide as much control as the pro version, and the seams between images are invariably ragged. While rough panoramas can look great, this new version allows you to match exposures between images, reducing the appearance of seams. It also lets you remove and replace images, sort them front to back and export at high resolution.
One tip is to shoot your source photos in the default camera app and then pull them into Panolab from the roll. This will allow you to take the photos in rapid sequence so that your perspective won't change too much between shots.
So close, but one major flaw.
Why is there no seam enhancer/smoother? Sure it's great that we have to adjust the frames ourselves, but when you render it out, it still just looks like a bunch of sloppy sqaures stuck together. A seam blend would make the picture look complete. PLEASE add this enhancement so that the pics look good!
Also, why not give us a reference frame for when we line up the next pictures? For an app that costs that much and is labeled "pro" it seems more pro features would complete this halfway there app.
Lot of fun and be creative..
Like the Pano and now bough the Pro. Nice featured on top of it to have more comtrol of the picture quality and the options for images sizes and quality. But I have an issue don't know other users here have come across. After being compose a pano's photo, saved and quit. The apps will not run the second time again. Keep crashin' and I need to deleted it and re-download. Any ideas my friends? Otherwise, thanks for making this fun apps available.
