Customer Reviews
Good. Not great.
I am surprised how this compares to their Mac ap. the Mac app is fantastic this is so average on every level.
Do not buy!!!
I've used PDFpen and still do on my desktop. This product they produced for the iPad is absolutely horrible. I am very familiar with PDFpen pro and use it daily. I cannot begin to produce one document on the iPad version. I wouldn't buy this for a penny because it is not usable at all.
Disappointing Start
This app does not stack up well to current PDF apps that are out there.
It is a very disappointing start for a developer that has a good track record.
Sync & File Organization:
The app doesn't offer Dropbox sync. You can only pull down individual PDFs. And when you do, you are kicked back out to the main screen, making it extremely cumbersome to pull down multiple PDFs. Then, there is no simple way to have that PDF sync back up to Dropbox.
There is also no way to create folders. You must have all your PDFs in one unorganized clump.
Text Selection & Unconventional Highlighting Methods:
You cannot select text with a single tap like you can in every other app. This is troubling. You must use a double-tap just to select text, and once you do this there is no option for you to do anything with the text (perhaps this is a bug).
To highlight text, you must select Markup > Highlight in the upper right, and then drag your finger across the text you want to highlight. This is very unconventional and as far as I know, no other app is doing it this way. If only they did things the way iBooks did, people might know how to use this app. Very poor design decisions that do not work well in actual use.
Overall Sluggishness:
The rendering is also extremely slow and buggy, making it painful to use overall.
Conclusion:
I'm very disappointed, and feel that I just paid for nothing. Hopefully they will improve this app so that it is usable.
Right now, PDF Highlighter and PDF Expert are both much better.
