Holy Moly--extraordinary update
I absolutely loved the first version of percolator, but this update is a mind blower--incredible new functions, particular the ability to nuance settings to a degree well beyond the original. From very dramatic circle/dot versions and overlays to more subtle stunning combinations of watercolor and halftone looks, this app has jumped forward exponentially. I don't remember an update this transformative on another app, and just wanted to congratulate the developer(s) on a stunning enhancement. Particularly--but by no means exclusively--for those of us who move images from app to app to create increasingly abstract work, this update offers so much potential and play. Thanks, Tinrocket, truly.
Percolator Rocks On An iPad
I'm a big fan of apps that focus on doing one thing exceptionally well. Percolator is one of those apps. If you like the effect you see in Percolator images here, you won't regret buying this app.
The 2.0 version is slick - especially on an iPad. And it's great that this developer isn't one of those cheapskates who feel the need to charge for the new version update.
Buy it. The app is awesome, and it's great to support developers who have respect for those who buy their apps.
Very creative app
I've been enjoying this app for a long time, and this latest update to version 2 is superb. Some of the effects you create are really interesting to say the least. With the new controls you can now use this on a much wider range of photos and achieve a great variety of effects. It's one of those apps you need to keep in your toolkit of photo apps.
My only issue right now is the resolution of the saved images. On my iPhone 4s it is saving with a resolution of 1538x2048 (full iPhone 4s resolution is 2448x3264). Would like to see this increased in the future.
Here is my version 1 review:
This app lets you create some really creative/abstract images. I am really enjoying it. The app seems very stable and saves at full resolution (iPhone 4). You need to learn which types of photos are good use with this app. Most often they are shots with good "lines." The author of the app is very responsive to requests. Using this app in combination with others also allows for very interesting shots. The Flickr group really shows many interesting shots.
