Generally Quite Happy
I'm generally quite happy with Perfect Photo, and I don't regret purchasing it. The interface is clean and easy to figure out.
I've purchased Photoforge, Photogene and Perfect Photo. Of the three, Photogene is the worst. I think Perfect Photo represents the best value, but Photoforge has the most features, most of which are very helpful. If you spend $1, get Perfect Photo. If you spend $3, get Photoforge.
I like that in Perfect Photo, when you edit a photo, you edit it in its full quality. In Photogene and Photoforge, the photo is downscaled while you're editing, so you don't really ever see the true quality of the image.
There are a few improvements that I would like to see in the next version of Perfect Photo:
1) At least one level of undo/redo! Sometimes you're not sure whether you like an effect until it's done on the full image, or you want to compare an effect with the original image.
2) I'm shocked that there does not seem to be a resize tool. Sometimes I want to make a lower resolution version of an image.
3) The preview of an effect is performed on a lower resolution version of the image for to make it seem speedier. The resolution of the preview is too low, making the image much softer, and making it more difficult to get a sense of how the effect will look. If the preview was of slightly higher quality, or got better if you left it for a few seconds, that would be great.
Future enhancement suggestions:
- A tone curve adjustment would be great!
All in all, a good app.
Perfect photo
Only software I've used for editing photos on my iPhone. this app works great, especially for lightening up my darker photos.
Great picture results
Very good features just like the 100 dollar program on my PC. Works great with all types of pictures from dark exposure to blurry pictures. It does it all very well.
