The best google reader app
Trust me. Go ahead and try the free ad supported version first. I love companies that offer a free version that you can try before buying. This is a great google reader app with offline reading, caching and the ability to format for reading using instapaper, readability or so many other apps that I haven't heard of. It really is close to what it's name suggests.
I like this for the most part
I love this reader and I've tried most of them. I like it more than Reeder, NetNewsWire, etc. I especially like how you can turn off features. Most apps don't allow that level of customizability, and that always irritates me. The only service I keep enabled, for example, is Twitter, even though this app supports about a dozen more. And I only have one gesture enabled.
But this app needs at least a couple changes, in my humble opinion.
You should be able to configure the size of that little thing you can change pages with (using your thumb). It's a brilliant idea, where you can just tell the developer was asking themselves how people truly hold their iPad. Those small touches is what makes this app. Problem with that little bar thing is... I find it's a bit too small, and I often scroll the page accidentally when I'm trying to change articles. Maybe you could just make it to where you can't scroll from the page margin, and then when you widen the margin, you widen the area where you can move your finger without scrolling the page. Even then, it seems like you might need to make the page-turner bar thing bigger.
Second, I would like my feeds to organize in alphabetical order like they do on my desktop RSS client, which I will refrain from naming. :) I don't understand how Perfect RSS organizes those. It's seemingly random. I'd like to be able to expand all folders and see which feeds are inside, and as I flip through the articles the feed view should scroll along with it and tell me what feed I am looking at. This is helpful for a number of reasons which I won't go into here.
Lastly, have you considered a better name for this app? I mean, "Perfect RSS Reader"... really? That's the best you got? :)
Thanks for considering my feedback.
A wonderful app
It performs very well, and performs as expected. They've fixed some bugs and increased the resolution for the retina display iPad. I only wish there was a way to get the URL for articles so i could read them in instagram.
