Great
first off. I'll tell you that this is the first review I've written and I am writing this review with the text recognition in PhatPad (with Very minimal editing. of course ) . I have found that the text recognition works extremely well, it is without a doubt the quickest and easiest way to enter text info the iPad (as long as you write carefully). Before PhatPad I was using myscript memo, and although the text recognition is very good in that app, I find that PhatPad is much more flexible, and accurate especially when using the Phatpad's Input panel and a stylus . the biggest problems with the text recognition In all the apps I've tried so Far seems to be punctuation , and the recognition of upper and lower Case letters (as you Can see) .
For me this app Works extremely well !
However the text recognition is only Half the Story with this app. The notepad functions are on par with the best dedicated notepad apps I've tried, and it makes a very nice tool for throwing together a quick presentation ,or technical drawings at a moments notice using the Shape detection tools.
my only Complaint with this app was the lack of an eraser tool (like myscript memo has) but I have been in Contact with the developer, and he is considering the possibility of Implementing an eraser tool for the ipad version of PhatPad . this app Is well worth the money , and the developer Seems responsive to customers requests .
if took me about 10 minutes to sit down and write this entire review with a Stylus in the input panel of PhatPad . I figure this would have taken me at least twice that with the iPad on screen keyboard (if not more) .
So if you want one of the best notepad apps out there, with the added bonus of good handwriting recognition(as long as you Can live with the punctuation and capitalization errors) , and the ability to create quick presentations,this app is hard to beat !
There is a slight bit of a learning curve with this app, but once you've mastered it it really is hard to beat !
Not bad...
Would be a perfect app if it had the ability to create templates and export to a desktop version.
