Not for advanced users

I purchased this app because the UI design looked promising. I'd been using another app for my gym workouts for some time now but they have been falling behind in features and updates so I thought it was time to try something new.

The UI is nicely done, but in playing with the app for 5 mins I realized this isn't for anyone who actually knows what they're doing inside a gym. First, the excercises are divided into beginner, intermediate, & advanced. For someone who already has a routine or who creates new routines frequently, this type of catagorization isn't going to work.

Next, I tried setting up a typical routine of mine. What happens next is somewhat bizarre. It keeps asking me to take "tests". Then, I tried to access the routine. At first I couldn't find it because it's hidden inside of Profile > Trainer. Why it's not under "Workout" is beyond me. Then it wouldn't let me USE the routine because I set up the routine to normally be on Tues & Saturdays and today is a Wednesday. You also can't set up multiple routines. So if you have one routine for Mondays, another one for Wednesdays, and a different one for Fridays, then you can't mange all those within this app.

I quit trying after about 5 mins of frustration. It's not very flexible and not really intended for those people who frequent a gym often or who have multiple routines.

Great for beginners!

This is a great little app - simple and easy to use. I'm a beginner and quite overweight - I don't want to go to a gym (nor do I have time), but workout 2.0 meets me where I'm at and encourages me to push going forward. i like the reward/trophy idea. It also allows me to add in other exercises that I've learned elsewhere. I don't have to do theirs (for example, I can't stand windmills), but I can put in other things I like. I also have dumbbells at home, so I can add in weights if I want.

My only beefs are: 1) needs a total calories burned at the end of the workout and 2) need to be able to edit your routine without losing all your exercises and starting from scratch.

The tests are easy - just go until you feel a bit of a burn and then stop. The next day try to exceed by 1-5.

Well done!

Yes!

Really like this app. Great way to build, modify, grow, and maintain a calisthenics program
