NEEDS option to turn "Full Screen" shutter OFF! Version 2.9
REVIEW/SUGGESTIONS for version 2.9 (August 28, 2010)
With Camera+ removed from the app store, this app has a chance to move up, since separate Focus and Exposure controls were just added, both of which Camera+ was one of, if not the first to implement. BUT while Camera+ may reappear at some point, it does NOT do video, this app DOES. Before this I had to use "almost HDR", to get both exposure and focus control for video capture. BIG PLUS, is ProCamera can LOCK "Color Balance".
But I can only give 3-Stars for now, as my biggest COMPLAINT, or SUGGESTION, is for developer to INCLUDE and option to turn OFF what they call "FullScreen Trigger", the feature that many like that allows you to take a picture by touching the screen. While it's good to have this ability, it has a huge downside in my opinion when you start using the interface. Since I keep "Auto-Save" = OFF, another nice setting choice included, I find that I am constantly taking unintentional shots, as I touch to screen to operate many of the onscreen features. It's just way to easy to press any part of the screen and have a shot taken you don't want, and as I like auto save off, the camera switches to the review screen where I then have to click DELETE to get back to the camera screen, this slows everything down dramatically. Since one is constantly touching the screen (in expert mode, the only one I would use), to adjust focus and exposure, as well as ZOOM control, it's just way too easy to keep activating the shutter release. A quick FIX would simply be to give us a menu choice to have a "SHUTTER BUTTON" added, which would disable the "FullScreen Trigger". Then those that like that feature could turn it on, I'd leave it OFF myself, as constant touching of the screen to move the focus and exposure box and zoom is resulting in too many mistaken photos being taken, then slowing down picture taking by having to delete them before being able to get back to the camera screen.
One other suggestion is to copy the Camera+ interface that has a different onscreen icon or box that shows FOCUS and EXPOSURE as a different SHAPE icon not just a different "color" box. In that app, one icon is a square for focus, and a round "IRIS" shaped icon for exposure, now that is smart.
Again, this app has upped the controls with the addition of White Balance "color" control locking, and the small button lock onscreen is great! PLEASE give us the option to turn OFF, "FullScreen Trigger", and keep up the good work.
Finally one of the best camera apps
I've bought 20+ camera apps since my original 2g phone and this was never my favorite until I got my iphone4 and this company started adding better features in the past few months.
At this point, it is now the absolute best.
There's one last feature I'd like which is anti-shake in combination with touching the screen. The anti-shake can only activated via a tiny button. Make a fullscreen option and I'd give it six stars.

Ver. 2.9: ProCamera JUST GOT EASIER! Version 2.9 gives you total control on how you want the lighting for the picture to be. Instead of moving around just so you can capture the perfect picture, just move the exposure and focus squares around and you're good to go. The best part of this update was HOW THEY IMPLEMENTED THE FEATURE! Also does auto/lock white balance sound good too? Seriously people this camera app is just too good to pass. You'll find yourself coming back to this camera app again and again because it's so good and easy to use.
No other camera app has come close to the ease of use of ProCamera. Everything you need as a camera is right there on the main screen. Other camera apps lure people into buying their app by adding a bunch of unnecessary editing tools with poor camera usability but ProCamera's main focus is the camera app itself. Constant updates with courteous support speaks for itself ever since it came out. ProCamera is a keeper.
