Definite 2 Thumbs Up!!!
Before I bought a voice memo type app, read alot of the reviews that were written by various people. After doing all that, I decided to purchase SpeakEasy. I thought it was great! It did exactly what I wanted, easy to use, etc.
Today I came across iDicto. At first I wasn't going to buy it, but I am a sucker for cool graphics... besides for 99cents, why not?! I have to say that I LOVE this app! I didn't think it could be better but it is! I would definitely recommend this app to anyone looking for a voice memo type app.
Fantastic recording app
When I got my first iPhone, a recording app was a top priority. I purchased 4 apps before finally finding Recorder (now Recorder Pro), where it struck a near-perfect balance between simplicity and feature set. And in my opinion, it still does. I have used this app since v1 on my original iPhone, and more recently, on my 3GS (don't have a 4G yet). It has proved invaluable in critical situations time and again. I have never experienced mysteriously disappearing recordings, and have found the developer responsive to problems and competitive in feature set. The user interface is red-button simple, and the file management feature set is impressive. Personal favorite features: (1) ready to record on launchis the ability to append to the end of an existing recording.
Oh sure, I have a wish list. It would be nice to be able to perform more edits — like crops, deletes and splicing 2 recordings together, but then what would I do with all my desktop applications? And MP3 recording would likewise be a terrific addition, but I suspect there may be iOS limitations preventing this feature.

I usually don't take the time to write personal testimonials... But for this I just had to!!! I've been using this app for some time now... (for class lectures especially)... And just recently I got stuck next to a noisy slide projector in one of my smaller classes... I assumed that the recording would be nothing but the loud fan blowing... But after reviewing it later... I was so pleasantly surprised!!! I mean I could still hear the fan... But the professor's voice was still clearly heard!!! (I am not sure if this is just because I was in fact, in a small classroom...) However, I will definetely recommend this app to my friends!!! Both me and my GPA thank you!!!
