Based on the rich lore of Christian Gossett’s celebrated graphic novel of the same name, The Red Star takes place in a
war-torn, technologically advanced land known as the United Republics of the Red Star (URRS), a place reminiscent of Soviet era Russia. In this world, the URRS maintains control over their people through forceful use of their technologically advanced army, an army made even more powerful by the use of sorcerers, soldiers trained to wage war through the use of mystical powers. However, the URRS’s power is not confined merely to military strength. The nation holds a dark secret about how it actually maintains its might, that when revealed by The Red Star’s main characters leaves them no choice but to fight the URRS head on.
People can play through The Red Star’s complex universe as one of three characters pulled directly from the graphic novel.
Initially, players can choose to play as either Kyuzo, a highly-trained soldier of unequaled power, or Makita, a swift and
lethal freedom fighter. Later on, players have the opportunity to unlock and play as Maya Antares, one of the URRS’s most
skilled sorceresses.

As good as the Ps2 game
Crazy this old ps2 game showed up for iPhone. It's pretty classic. Very fun, a lot of game for 5 bucks
Played the Original PS2 Game...
Loved The Red Star, got this on my iPhone 3GS while in line for the iPhone 4 and I believe this should be an iPhone 4 only game, game is slow on a 3GS, even with some of the effects nerfed graphicly. On an iPhone 4 the game runs a clean 60 frames it seems and looks amazing. Hope to see an HD version for the iPhone 4 or a version of this on par with the PS2 version.
One tad nit pick. The controls are very stop or go. A dead zone or more analog type movement is needed. Once you start moving while holding down the screen to lock there isn't alot of room to wiggle without the character moving non-stop without letting go of the screen... Also would love a double-tap option to hold-on or hold-off. So I can lock target while letting go of the screen, then double-tap again to unlock.
The Red Star is a 5-star game on PS2. On iPhone it's 4-stars until they fix some of the visuals and controls... Also in the PS2 version wasn't there a stat or combo list screen when you paused? It's been a while.
Classic but needs work
For God sake the IPhone is not a console. I dont have time to save at designated points. At least add some checkpoints.
And please fix the glitching. As soon as you fix the saving (or checkpoints) this will be a 5 star game for me.
addendum: i really hope ‘proudly old school' does not mean 'we dont care about your suggestions, take it or leave it'.
