Retro Defense is a tower defense game with a killer retro theme. If you like tower defense games, you'll love this.
However, if you're new to this type of game, your goal is to stop the invaders from getting through the board. You know the path they'll take, so you have to spend your money wisely and build the right towers. Each tower type has it's own benefits and weaknesses, and there are bonus towers and freeze towers to slow down the invaders and help you destroy them. Tower placement is key, as well as planning properly to not get caught by the wrong color of invader.
Retro Defense is hours of action and strategy for your iPhone or iPod touch.

I'm a fan of retro games and I hated this.
Could be a Strategy Game
I've been going nuts over this game for over a week now. I just beat it and I would snatch up the paid version if
1. It had some benefit other than other levels, like more towers or something.
2. Less lag. It's not just annoying, but interferes with gameplay. When there's a lot going on you can't open the building menu without the badguys jumping ahead 2 extra spaces.
That said, there is an addictive strategy element to this game, but it would be so much more with the problem fixed. And anyone who says they don't understand the towers is retarded. There's even a tower guide.
Great intro to the game but
The frame rate needs to be increased and more info on the towers would be helpful. I am going to buy the full version with hopes the updates will fallow shortly after. Fix the couple of things I have listed and I bet this will kill fieldrunner. I gets a 4 star from me cuz it's free and a great starter in TD games with multiable entery and exits.
