Description

Just like a personal workout training coach, the Run 5k app will help you get into shape using our beginner runner training plan. In 8 weeks, you'll be able to run 5 km (3.1 miles) without stopping or walking. This app is great for beginner runners who have never run before or former runners who want to start up again.

The Run 5k app has been featured in the Boston.com lifestyle-health section and reviewed in Health Magazine and on www.MacStories.net.

This app was created by Lucius Kwok and Kasten Searles. Made in NYC.

* 20 to 30 minute workouts, plus a 5-minute warmup and 5-minute cooldown fo each workout.
* Alternate between jogging and walking intervals.
* Intervals gradually become more challenging to build your running endurance.
* Full program takes 8 weeks, but you can start at any point.
* Female, male, or no voice prompts tells you when to jog and when to walk.
* Prompts at the halfway mark and 1-minute-left mark.
* User-friendly display showing time elapsed, total time remaining, and time remaining for each interval.
* Checks off and tracks the date of each completed workout.
* Use it with your own playlists - music, podcasts, or other audio.
* Use it along with Nike+ to track your distance.
* Built-in music controls so you don't have to leave the app to change your music.
* Option to update Facebook and/or Twitter at the end of each workout.

Thanks for the change without warning

I updated and it flipped the whole script on me. Week 7, day 2 and now it's a whole new program with 1 less week!? Did the real c25k sue you? You did rip them off and that's where my money for this app was meant to go when I first got it last year, but changing it on us was even more messed up. Really pissed...

Fixing the audio feedback on a locked screen

It's true. You can fix the problem of no audio feedback on a locked screen by going into your phones settings, then notifications, and turning the sound on for run5k. Turns out the app isn't the problem :-)

Enable sound notifications

If you are not getting audio feedback while the screen is locked, go to notification settings and just enable sound, that fixes it
