Review
"It’s a wonderful little application that could really save lives and it’s the kind of healthcare IT I love – dirt simple to get and use and it has immediate utility. If you’re a participant in any surgeries I’d recommend checking it out."

The WHO Surgical Safety Checklist has recently been reported to reduce post-operative mortality by over 40%.
This checklist has now been adapted into an easy to use iPhone App.
No need to remember the 19-point checklist - run through it on your iPhone.
This tool is designed to help surgeons, anesthetists, OR nurses and other health care professionals reduce the risk of surgical complications and mortality.
Designed for use in the OR, this software was converted from cutting edge research to an iPhone app within a week of online publication. Now that's knowledge translation at its best.

Does what is says it does well
I don't think that alipenny understands the purpose of an app like this. It's not to provide instructions to OR attendees. Rather, it's a checklist, which when used, ensures that you don't forgot critical items. We are humans, and it is possible to forget things from time to time. By having a checklist that forces you to go through various items in a step-by-step manner, one can reduce errors caused by forgeting. As the referenced study shows, implementing this particular checklist can have dramatic results in decreasing mortality and complications during surgeries. I think it's a great idea, and if something this simple can help to prevent complications, I will definitely start to use it.
Crashes
Crashes on startup
App Crashes and no support
App will not work at all. Touch the icon and the splash screen opens then closes immediately, never gets to the checklist part. Also, I contacted tech support over two weeks ago and have yet to receive a reply.
Bottom line...look for a better app or memorize the checklist from World Health Organization.
