Great app but requires alittle bit more spit and shine
Its exciting to see more and more applications being written for Singapore. SGTransport is one of the latest in the ever-increasing pool of application. One of the best free transport application on the market now is SGBus. However SGTransport looks to take that spot now. SGTransport integrates both bus and train into one free app. BUS || The bus feature has been very well implemented. All bus information has been neatly presented. One killer feature is the ability to check bus arrival time. This feature will definitely prove useful. Instead of checking IRIS, you simply need to launch this app and check from within. You are able to search for address, down to the block number. Another feature that I think deserves much praise is the ability to add favorites. To some, this may be a common feature, however a look around, this is the only app that features favorites. It offers quick and easy access to common bus-stops. However as good as it sounds, some of its options are confusing. When you click on the bus-stop, it springs up several options : Cancel, Details, Select Source, Select Destination. While the former two is easy to interpret, the latter two feels confusing. It seems to calculate the fare between locations. However, how can I do that when I do not even know what bus do I need to take? The location of the bus-stop in Show Map seems to be half-baked. It attempts to show the location directly in the app. However the map loads slowly and it lags. I suggest improving on how fare calculation is done, if necessary, remove Select Source and Destination. I suggest not integrating the maps into the app. The developer may follow what SGBus is doing, by directly invoking Maps to show the location. TRAIN || The train feature is only bare at its best. Basically it contains an image of the trains map in Singapore, directly lifted from LTA. I saw an option Journey Time. Wow I was impressed. But that only lasted for as long as the moment I saw the button till I pressed the button. Its another image of the calculated journey time, split by their different lines. This is forgivable if the image is clear, however, it is not. It is pixelate as I zoom in to human-readable size. One plus side is that, not only MRT is included, the developer has put in the effort to include LRT. I suggest using a higher resolution map or do one yourself. Make it an interactive one. If possible, for the journey time, allow users to select their location and their intended destination. OVERALL || This app joins the rank of potential apps by Singaporeans for Singaporeans. The interface of the whole app feels incomplete and it requires extra touch up so as to give it a professional well-built app feeling. The icon requires a change as its too amateurish. With a little bit more of spit and shine, this app has the potential to outshine SGBus and perhaps may be one of the best Singapore app on the iTunes Store.
Great App - Bus arrival timing works
Bus arrival timing works for the most part, encounter problem with checking arrival at interchanges. Check arrival using SMS seems to be faulty also. Nevertheless. keep up the excellent work and many thanks for the free app.
This does nothing!
This blows every app in the app store away??? You must be either brain dead or smoking something! There are 11,000 better apps available... This blows nothing away.. It just BLOWS period. Like I said:
Spend a bit of time, do it right, and charge for it... Don't be afraid to do something really useful! This app is crap...
