Built on many years of scientific research at the IBM Almaden Research Center, ShapeWriter is a revolutionary text input method that frees you from the constraints and frustrations of a conventional method. Simply slide your finger on the gesture-keyboard and lift to complete an entire word. ShapeWriter's intelligent algorithms can turn the single gesture stroke into your intended word. For example, a stroke from F to U to N on the keyboard will be recognized as the word "fun". Ignore repeat letters. Due to iPhone SDK restrictions, ShapeWriter on the iPhone is currently a standalone note-taking application. It also enables sending or replying to email messages. You can also copy and paste written text in ShapeWriter into any other applications.

What's New In Version 3.5.0
• The introduction of iOS4 was subsequent to the previous release of ShapeWriter. Use of previous versions of Shapewriter with iOS4 would cause the application to fail. This issue has been resolved in this release.
• Unlike previous versions of the OS, iOS4 prohibits application editing of emails. For devices running iOS4, this release enables the user to paste reply content manually.
• This upgrade is available for a limited time. Users who have moved to iOS4 are encouraged to download this ShapeWriter release as soon as possible.

Great news & not so great news
This is a favorite app of mine and it is good to see it back and available. it is truly great for notetaking!!
I would gladly move up to the "pro" edition but for the apparent fact that the ATOMIK keyboard arrangement which I spent a number of hours mostly mastering is no longer an option. Lots of the "IBM developed this" in the product description relates to that key arrangement which -- like the Dvorak keyboard for a regular typewriter -- makes entry easier, faster, and more accurate.
To be fair, perhaps the new owners of Shapewriter are no longer allowed to include the ATOMIK arrangement. If so, too bad for us and the original developers. They created a great design and it should have a chance to be widely used.
A final thought: if the ATOMIK or other arrangement new is unavailable, perhaps the Dvorak arrangement could be made available? it would be just about as good and is in the public domain.

Please, please, please make this a keyboard option similar
It took my 5x the amount of time just to write this review which coyldve been done in a few swipes. Please work on making this a standard keyboard option. The greatest setback to new smartphonea is the lack of tactile feedback. Sharpwirtwr has solved this. Tw leaving on all my typos drone using this hint and peck keyboard.
Buy this then upgrade!!!
I don't understand the pricing scheme here. If I buy the lite version then upgrade it's cheaper than the pro version...???!!! Same features but you will just have the "lite" icon. Love the program though. It's not just a neat trick, it definitely is a lot faster!
EDIT: maybe with pro you get the Lang packs? So decide what works best for you
