NEWS:
To transfer data from the free version to paid version, perform the following steps in this exact order:
1) Update both apps to version 2.00
2) In the free version, select Settings>About>Export Data to Paid Version
3) In the paid version, select Settings>About>Import Data from Free Version
Data transfer currently does not work if you have any "&" characters in your list or item titles. A fix is on the way.

Excellent! A must have application!
I've downloaded and used several to do list (or tasks lists) and actually found this one mentioned in the review of another application and decided to check it out; while you are not supposed to mention another product in the review, I’m very glad they did. I first downloaded this app when the version was just 1.1 and was very impressed with it then (so much so that I removed the others I had been sampling and moved this application to my home row). Now, at revision 1.4, this app has only gotten better with items such as spell-checker (thank you!) and the addition of setting optional due dates (my wife loves giving me due dates for my “Honey Do” items. If I were to design a To Do list, this IS the way I would have designed it. Some of my favorites features are that you can create List with due dates and Lists without due dates (excellent!), you can order the List manually or alphabetically and then within the actual List, you can sort the items manually, alphabetically, by priority, or by due date (if you have the due dates feature turned on for the List). I also like when you start Simplist, if you have an overdue item, it pops up an alert box letting you know. There are more features but these are the main ones I was looking for when I was searching for a quality To Do list. I think so highly of this application that if you don’t like it, I'd almost be willing to give you a refund if you didn’t like this application out of my own pocket! Try it out and you will be impressed. Thank you for a quality written application.
Great Program ~ Just one request...
Let me start by emphasizing that this is a great little application. You can create multiple lists, sort them pretty much anyway you like, prioritize items, check and/or delete items, ad personal notes to each item, set due dates, etc. etc. etc. Best of all, you can do so very quickly and at great ease (i.e. not complicated like many other similar programs).
I do have one small request for the developer:
Presently, when the application is closed, the total number of items that one has stored in the application is displayed on the icon. When one manages countless items, this large number becomes meaningless (and in that regard useless). I think it would be much better if the number of items listed on the icon would only pertain to the high priority items. This would give the user more meaningful information, namely the number items that require immediate attention.
Other than that, this is hands-down a 5-star program. I have owned several other "To-do"-List programs. But none of them have all the features this one has with such a simple way to get the job done.
The Best Checklist / Todo App!
I have tried out 2 other checklist apps & this is by far the easiest and most user friendly. It is simple to use and yet it has a lot of functionality. It does exaclty what I need it to do. I keep lots and lots of lists and this app has made it so simple. I am finally able to bring over all my Todo lists from my old Palm Treo phone. Without this app I don't know how I would have gotten them on my iPod Touch. Don't waste your money on any of the other list apps...this is the best by far!
