New Campaign available:
"Knights of the Sky" campaign with 12 missions, available either as an in-app purchase or when you complete all dogfight missions.
Ace Packs available:
Two new airplane packs that give you access to more advanced versions of some of the airplanes, available either as an in-app purchase or when you achieve high Ace Ranks.
New stats have been added to all planes:
Critical Strike - every plane now has a chance to get a lucky shot, which will kill another plane instantly
Machinegun Cooling Time - the cooling of an overheated weapon takes different time for each plane
Machinegun Spread - how much the bullets spread out for each plane
Repair Efficiency - how fast damage is restored, while landed
Bullets Speed & Range - how fast and far bullets will travel
Simplified Stats View:
Aerodynamics - aggregate value based on Speed, Acceleration & Maneuver
Weaponry - aggregate value based on Damage, Bullet Range & Machinegun Cooling Time
Structure - aggregate value based on Armor, Repair Efficiency & Airplane Size
Luck - aggregate value based on Critical Strike & Machinegun Spread
A parachute has been added to multiplayer matches. If you parachute when your airplane is heavily damaged, you will not count as being fragged. If you kill an "empty" airplane, you will still get credit for a frag.
Game maps now have barns scattered across the terrain in which players can land or fly through and be safe from "most" fire.
Team change is now possible in multiplayer combats.

Highly reccomended lil learning curve
To all those reviews leaving negative reviews due to lack of skill I say again please play the tutorial and read what it says. If ur having a hard time taking on several planes just use the swipe up or down and u will pull a 180like maneuver. Also if ur plane is getting beat up then try to land. Don't head on 4 on 1 Rambo style this is almost a sim. Game it's very close to that line of sim vs arcade and once u get it down didn't take long just use the calibration and remember after loading it tells u tap the screen u had better be hold it at were ur horizon shall be when u tap since that's when it calibrates. U can redo it if u pause if its off or u adjust. Also u don't have to use IAP to buy anything it's just a shortcut so if u don't want to unlock the evo and ace packs by beating 100 dogfights and unlock a second campaign by playing. So i keep seein this best in class great triple A title 5star getting 2or3 from ignorance lack of skill or completing tutorial and not knowing how to be good at the game in 10seconds is not the games fault it's yours. The game is great they even added real effects not like crits for hitting like the gas tank of a plane & they added bloom so u may miss a bit. The games great but I guess if ur not a hardcore gamer it's not for u if ur looking for a game that is going to hold ur hand then don't bother I guess unless ur willing to learn and read tutorial then go play that metalstorm jet game were tilting has no roll or pitch or yaw but holds ur hand and turns left u can't roll which drives real pilots dogfighters nuts cuz it's necassary for combat. But if ur planes on fire just land it And the plane will heal then get back out and take the enemy out. Landing is really easy in this game just slow down there's an invisible dpad on the left side of screen and a look around on right and camera button if inside view blocks too much some planes do. But please don't blame the game 4 u being either too lazy to put time into it or not learning the tutorial i cant stress enough how much that helps. I came over from Sog battle for Britain and this has some improvements so ik what to expect veteran bad reviewers blame game 4 lacking skills 5s
This game is gorgeous on the eyes and idk what most of these guys are talking about with all these complaints. It does have a bit of a learning curve but is so worth it once u finally do get the controls down.this game is great I like to leave detailed reviews cuz I can't stand reviews that just say get it or this game is awesome ect. I want to know reasons for these statements such as the controls are great the graphics beautiful the sound is pretty authentic. It does a really good job of making u feel like ur a ww1 pilot who's one of the 1st to ever be engaging in dog fights. The single player is great so far I got to take down some blimps trains rescue a downed fighter and plenty of dogfights.
For those of u who are having trouble getting past any missions I suggest retrying the tutorial and when ever u start taking too much damage just swipe up or to the left or right accordingly to the situation ur in and u will do some evasive maneuvers that will save ur butt when things get too heated. Get out of the line of fire and try to flank ur enemy they usually stall out when u pull of a swipe evade they end up stalling trying to turn I always go left or right and the swipe up to do a 180 and get the drop on them use the d pad to slow down and steer left and right don't tilt which is the mistake I made since the d pad isn't visible unless u touch it again the tutorial shows u all of this I didn't like this game compared to air battle over brittain a similar less beautiful ww2 flight dogfight sim I was used to those controls but once I figured out how to use these I found this game had superior controls. It's also sweet how u can land and take off and even turn off the engine and coast if ur good and careful. Some missions even require it. This is for sure a 5star game that I highly reccomende to any ww1 enthusiast or ppl who just love to fly or like planes. It does have a bit of a steep learning curve but spend some time with it and u will quickly learn to love it the game runs smooth for me and is also remaining a challenge. I've died a few times on each mission but just use a different strategy and victory is urs. Some good advice is don't worry as much with taking down every single fighter if it's not the objective. Like the train mission I kept getting distracted but once I just focused on the trains and the immediate threat even had to ignore a few and go crazy suicide mission style for the 2nd train as soon as I destroyed the last train I got mission success didn't even have to clear out the 5 or so fighters on my tail.
I haven't had any issues with crashing at all I'm on a 4th gen iPod touch 32gig less then 100mb left low memory still no problems I'm also running iOS 4.2 not 4.3 noticed allot of complaints with crashes and bugs are 4.3and up or iOS 5 this is why I'm waiting to upgrade. But so far smooth sailing or flying with this game a great pickup hurry and get it quick while it's on sale for 1/5th the price it's usually $5 if ur unsure there is a lite version. So try it but if u like it hurry. This is deff worth the asking price for the moment. Not sure about $5 but $1 is perfect can't recommend highly enough great game. Can't think of inprovements yet I'll update if I think of any.
The multiplayer is also a ton of fun.
Now we have ww1&2 dogfight games so either one of these companies needs to make a jet game were u get to take off and land with an epic campaign land take offs and bases and aircraft carriers. And maybe another with helos from each era both jets planes helicopters it would be great if a game could be like battlefield and have us control infantry that can run and fight or hop into a tank or jeep or aircraft like in BF. I'm sure the iOS can handle it can't wait to see what these devs come up with great job
