Description
SmartPlans is a flexible project planner and task manager. It's "Smart" because it manages the time that you allocate to your various projects, while maintaining the balance that you need to get everything done.
With SmartPlans you can also create simple unstructured "to do" lists, record the time of multiple tasks and calls (great for managing contacts and customer billing), and even track your life balance goals.
How it works:
✓Create a Project.
✓Fill it with tasks. Add more later.
✓Flip your iPhone or iPad sideways to manage multiple Projects from the Gantt view.
✓Sync your tasks to Toodledo to integrate with our other Smart apps - SmartCal and SmartPad.
✓There. Now you have everything from the forest to the trees. Even acorns.

Customer Reviews
Saw it at Mac World
Ok, I've been using SmartPad for a long time and I got to play with SmartPlans at their booth at Mac World. I love it because it allows me to manage multiple plans all within my work week. You can even bring the tasks in to SmartPlans through Toodledo. I downloaded the current version and played with it, more on that soon. But the new version is what I can't wait for. It will be out in a few weeks.
Works ok, but not a good time tracker
This is not a 'nimble' time tracking app where you can track time spent on tasks by tapping on one to start adding time to one task and stop it on the currently running task. If you forget to stop or start a timer you will not be able to edit the times (until the task is complete). I like the categorization using plans and the gant like charts showing where time is spent. Working with 'life balance' was easy but cumbersome. In general I find the app requires too many clicks to track a simple list of categorized tasks and not powerful enough to track at a project level. If this were a trial, I would have ended it and been out a few hours of my time and went on to try another app, I paid $10, not wanting to wait for the occasional 1/2 price sales.
Bottom-line - not being able to edit the times makes it unusable for my purposes, so I will never use it, therefore 2*s. With time editing, I would have used it and given it at least 3*s. I found support to be responsive and the app seems well designed, no obvious bugs.
The most promising waste of $4.99 and an example of how Apple is destroying its Brand Reputation
This looks like a great app, and it might very well be. But mine has never worked properly. After opening it, I'm taken to a screen that might be useful, but then immediately taken to a screen that has no utility or function whatsoever. I can't create a plan, I can't modify a plan, and I can't navigate to another screen. This is worse than buying a bad piece of equipment, or an appliance featured on late night TV because I can't even use it as a doorstop. So, as far as planning apps go, only buy this one if you are planning to get really frustrated over wasting your time and money - although you will probably have to buy another app to actually make that plan.
I'll change my review if their support team provides some sort of meaningful help, but absent that, I'm going to blast them (and other app developers) who have cluttered the app store with a bunch of non-functional crap that only wastes peoples's money. And I hope someone reads this too. They seem to have started letting anyone who can sell an app with a flashy webpage into the app store without any of the quality control checks that Apple consumers have come to depend upon. If Apple looses it brand reputation as for products that consistently works great, then they need to stop taking money from app developers who's product consistently performs terribly.
