Songineer - Instant Composer for the iPhone is one of the worlds fastest methods to create melodic electronic music. It brings on the latest trend in mobile music creation - short, inspiring music pieces that can be created literally in seconds and shared with your friends right away.
There is simply nothing between you and the countless billions of awesome melodies, laid out on five pre-defined layers: beat, bass, keys, lead and atmo. Four 32-step patterns can hold a massive amount of thrilling polyphonic motives and cutting solos, enriched with on-board send FX: Tape Delay and Grand Stereo Reverb. The simple, thumb-oriented structure of the interface is the icing on the cake for anyone willing to make music without any tedious hassle.
Songineer is a unique scale-based sequencer, bundled with 30 original scales, which make the search for that perfect note combination a complete breeze. The innovative DNA Keyboard leaves no chance for any bad-sounding notes, and in connection with the big piano roll-style sequencer window it provides excellent quantized loop-recording and editing possibilities. Since the scales can be changed on the fly and the sequencer data is independend from the scales, the workflow process is highly addictive and gives fantastic results.
Manual input of the beat patterns is easy, but leave it to the extremely powerful Beat Randomizer, which is capable of producing of more than 256,000,000 cool-sounding rhythms. The beats make use of a dedicated beatpad keyboard with fixed drumkits and have their own LP/HP filter. It takes only a couple of taps to export the whole track to a MIDI file for using the freshly-generated ideas in studio work later on. Among other export options are .WAV, .M4A and multi-track dry .WAV.
Songineer comes with 20 great-sounding instruments and 5 modern drumkits, but you can extend your arsenal with 60 more instruments and 15 drumkits, available in 5 packs from the bundled sound shop. The carefully-selected samples come from the best hardware synths and drum-machines and blend perfectly with the latest-generation Amidio's CrystalClear audio engine. Audio and MIDI sharing are carried out through the new audio hosting service PlayMe.cc, created especially for mobile music apps. The URL to your track can be posted on Facebook or Twitter right from Songineer's main menu without any unnecessary steps.

Very cool app
This is a fun and easy means of creating short tunes that always sound great. The interface is intuitive and easy to navigate through. However, there are a few things I would like to see in future updates. There should be an undo button - I sometimes find myself accidentally cloning selected notes and replacing all of my previously placed notes. Also, I think it would be handy to have the option to write notes without having to record. All in all, it's a wonderful application. Thank you.

Genius App!
Updated review- I said it before and I will say it again. I don't know how I missed this app when it dropped but I did and now that I've used it a few days later I can honestly say this is one genius of an app. If you have been wanting to write songs in apps like beatmaker2 or nano studio and found that a DAW style app is a little intimidating then this app will make you feel as if you are a top music producer.
It takes all the same features as those "big time pro" DAW apps and put just enough shine and friendliness on them to take that scary edge off. If you are in anyway a music producer or just have always wanted to create music then this app can almost do no wrong for you. It is made I. Such a way that there is easy note input as they almost can always sound great together and if you do make a mistake there is a "piano roll" that you can edit on. If you don't know how to use the "piano roll" editing then I would watch the you tune vid on this app. It will show you just what it can do in terms of editing for those that might think there is no editing there is. You just have to read the help guide or watch a video. This app is so easy and friendly to use and compose with you only need to watch one YT video and you will be pumping out tunes in no time. The sound quality is thick and deep the sharing is robust by way of the playme.cc implemtation. You can upload all your tracks to social media and playme.cc then you can download and use the "open in" feature to send your new songs into other apps such as multitrack DAW or Music Studio to add more or even change the instuments used in each track (if you've downloaded the midi file)There is no real copy/paste but the downloading from playme works flawless in safari as long as you have an internet connection then you can download your tracks and others as well!or anyones somgs from the sharing site and send them out to any other app there is also file share through itunes with MIDI,wav,m4a and other formats ready to be used however youd like.
This app is so easy to use and make great sounding quick tunes that i think its this weeks no-brainer app buy this app and you wont regret iIf you read this then I hope you buy it. It's great. I would like to see iPad "HD" version with a few more added features. This app right now only produces maximum track of 37 seconds. Four bars. You get five tracks to work with drums,bass,lead,keys,and pads with up to 20 instruments/voices for each category with IAP. I bought all the IAP the first day and I have only done that with one other app,Table Top! If they could add to this in the iPad version with an extended amount of bars or recording length then this could be one heck of a great song studio for producing full great sounding songs. For now it's taking up all my time and I am having a blast.
