Sound Seeker will provide hours of fun for young children as they easily learn their letter sounds.
Developed by infant teachers, Sound Seeker is a fun and interactive game for children aged 4-6 who are in the early stages of learning to read. To help prevent confusion, children only work with a small set of letters at any one time. As they master a particular letter and its sound, a new letter is replaces it.
The letter groups are carefully chosen to help the children to make the fastest possible progress in their early reading, and make a strong foundation for spelling simple words.
Though the sequence of letter sounds learned is a good match for children working at Phase 2 of the British Letters and Sounds program, it would help children in all curriculum systems master these foundational reading skills.
+++ How it works +++
Using phonics (the sounds of letters), children learn to identify letter sounds and associate them with the initial sounds of familiar objects. Thus, the picture of a cat is matched with a letter tile “c”. This is a critical skill in developing early reading and writing. To play, simply push the picture tiles to the correct letter sound and win sticker rewards for getting it correct. To help the children, the game will play the sounds of the individual letters when they are pressed.

After initial explanation from a parent, children can play this game by themselves or alongside a parent.
Parents can easily find out which letters their children have learned by checking the stickers page (accessible through the Parental Controls page). When your child has correctly learned 10 letter sounds, the game will send you a certificate as an attachment, via the Mail app on your iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad, to be printed out and to celebrate your child’s achievement.
+++ Rewards for children +++
There are three certificates and dozens of sticker rewards for identifying the letter sounds and picture tiles. There are additional rewards and activities that support this game available for download at the Brainbeanz website.
At regular intervals through the game, children are invited to play a simple but fun matching game, to reinforce their understanding of sounds and their matching letters. When they successfully match sounds their watering can fills with water with which they can water planted beans and grow a beautiful flower garden.

Great for Kindergarten
I use this app to review beginning sounds with my students. They seem to really enjoy it. The only recommendation I would make is to add more pictures for practice. It can become repetitive when students see the same pictures over and over again.
Please come up with an ending sound app as well!
