This is my first review ever with over 300 apps. Horrible! I bought this app trusting the dev to update appropriately. Now, I'm being required to pay a second time!!! Robbery!!! Not cool!
Upgrades Terminated!
I just purchased SpaceTime version 4.05 on Nov. 23 for $2.99. When installing I was informed that the new version of SpaceTime just released, version 5, has been renamed MathStudio. Great, as I expected the app to automatically update to the new version, just as every other app does. To my surprise, this didn't happen. Their website explains that although this is indeed the new version of SpaceTime, they are forced by Apple to not just allow an automatic upgrade and I must buy the new version all over again for $9.99. There is no credit for the amount $2.99 already paid. Those who bought SpaceTime should get the upgrade for free. New buyers should automatically be referred to the MathStudio app and not be allowed to buy SpaceTime by mistake, or be offered their money back. The fact that the new version is more expensive if bought new is the way it is supposed to work: early buyers buy a product with few features expecting to gain the benefits of future upgrades for no additional costs. Otherwise, why would we support the developers by buying early versions? This is extremely poor customer service and borders on fraud. Hopefully, this is an error that the developers will soon recognize and correct. If so, I will be happy to improve this rating at that time.
