All New Version 6.0 Offers:
- Support for unified desktop sync. Enables synching a single desktop database with multiple devices. This is done using an email ID for your username instead of the device name. This way you sync all devices to the same desktop user identified by the email address.
- Upgraded user interface with reflective card views.
- Auto-sync. Synchronizes on launch if desktop companion is found. Turn this feature on in Tools.
- Changed touch to copy functionality. When you tap a field, it brings up COPY as a menu option, instead of copying it automatically. Makes it 2 steps, but prevents accidental copying of sensitive data.
- You can now pick the icon from the record info dialog, without having to go into the edit dialog
- New View. Search View: just has a search bar, add button, and View All button on top left. Loads faster. Just search and display results. Select in Tools > Select view.
- Enhanced security. To further protect your sensitive data, timeout period was removed, so you need to authenticate on every launch now.

Useless release 6.0.7
I have used this software for 10 years on various platforms. They managed to destroy it's value with the new timeout removal. It makes the product virtually unusable. When the iPhone display turns off to save power every 1 or 2 minutes (user setting), or if you switch to another APP to check something, re-entry to the SplashID a split second later finds it locked. Terrible change.
You should let the user configure this as was the case in the previous version. No timeout should even be added as an option. My email has sensitive data, and that is protected by the iPhone's native timeout and lock if I leave my phone unattended.
I will be looking to replace SplashID with another product.
Good app, but beware of updates
Good app, but always a probelm when updates come. They often cause corrupt data and other problems, and are usually followed by a point release with bug fixes.
Advice: Don't install an update as soon as you see it in the app store. Wait a while, check their forums, see if people are having problems. When you DO install an update, always sync the database to your desktop and then export a copy of the desktop database.
Company focuses on up sell over improvement. Pay for more icons? Come on! New support for usb key that you have to buy? How about fixing Nagging problems in app and desktop have existed for months or years (eg no lock delay, no autofill for Firefox or chrome, etc. )
Without the deskltop companion, there is NO WAY to export your data for safekeeping. If you are not going to use the desktop companion, I do NOT recommend buying this app.
Also problematic: moving the database to a new device, or moving the desktop app to a new PC. These scenarios often cause the app to act like it is newly installed, wiping out your data and replacing with the demo database.
By the way, the desktop companion app does NOT have autofill for Firefox or Chrome.
horrible horrible horrible
SplashData as a whole has become a horrible company. The constant updates that force you to spend another 10 bucks, the inability to unify a single account across multiple devices without full purchase for each device, and the utter failure on their part to have a solid infustructor in place to handle technical are just the tip of the problems this company has. I have been with them since their early days and have given up on them. Money grabbing company that cares little about providing their customers with a unified system.
