Customer Reviews
Nice application. It's a keeper.
Pros:
I've owned this app for a couple of years and use it constantly, mostly for groceries. There are lots of fields for my sorting and costing needs. I like the auto delete feature particularly. The desktop version makes sorting and editing a cinch, and the wireless syncing never fails me.
Cons:
For groceries, I wish there was an easier way to manage quantities. E.g. needed 12, bought 3, still need 9. Also, the program crashes occasionally. Usually when I am racing along, keying lots of edits and new entries (using v3.1 with iOS5, iPhone 4S). And I wish I could edit the preloaded list of foods that appears when I start a new entry.
Other comments:
In regard to SplashShopper's other list options, on one hand they are pretty useful. And being able to create custom lists has served me well over the years. I made a custom for wine, software, and for packing when I travel.
On the other hand, there is SplashGrocery for just 99 cents! I didn't see it when I bought Shopper and I am left wondering if I could have lived without the other lists (as much as I like them) and saved $9.
Bottom line:
This application does not have a sexy interface. In fact, it feels like the database it is. As a list manager it has far more benefits than problems. It is a solid list tool that has integrated well with my shopping style. At about $10 it is a little pricy, especially in the face of their grocery-only app. Still, if given the choice, I would buy this app again.
Get Grocery Gadget
Used this for years on the Palm platform and this app is a huge disappointment in so many ways.
If you are looking fir a grocery app, get Grocery Gadget. It syncs with the web and you can share the db w multiple users - no mire emailing lists.
Needs repair on gift page
This is a nice app but with the latest upgrade there is no "home" button on the gift page, which leaves you stuck in "gifts".
