Will they offer a Creationist version that only has one level, already finished??
Enjoyable and good gameplay
Spore Origins is an enjoyable version of the Cell stage of SPORE – and EA/Tricky Software does an impressive job of translating the full SPORE game from Maxis for the iPhone OS platform. I particularly liked the creature editor, where it is possible to "pinch" a character to make it bigger/smaller, or (rather impressively) use the iPhone camera or Photo Gallery to create a design for the creature. The use of different "levels" worked well - and the game automatically saved progress at every stage (e.g. when you quit the application) unlike some other games I've tried. In addition, the accelerometer seems to be rather well calibrated – more like 'Labyrinth' (which is good) than 'Super Monkey Ball' (which I found rather difficult to control).
It loses one star for the excessive use of videos - including the "More Games" section which contained a full one-minute video of the SPORE game. On a platform with limited storage like the iPhone, I was a bit disappointed that some of the space went into producing a series of advertising.
nice app eats batteries
The app is a very nice app. Great use of the Iphone. But there is a cost, battery life. Seems to drain them pretty fast. But what can one expect with full screen, great graphics, and great controls.
