Description
If you’re fastidious about keeping your windows tidy, Stay is for you. Stay ensures that your windows are always where you want them to be, even as you connect and disconnect displays.
Move your windows to where you want them, then have Stay store them. Once stored, windows can be returned to their stored state at any time by having Stay restore them.
Stay can store a set of windows for every combination of displays that you use with your computer.
For example, if you have a laptop that is sometimes connected to an external monitor, you can store two sets of windows in Stay; one with the external monitor connected and one without. This done, you’ll be able to ensure that your windows are always where you want them to be by having Stay restore windows whenever you connect or disconnect the external monitor.
Stay can even be configured to automatically restore windows as displays are connected and disconnected.

This App Delivers
This app works as expected, automates the manual drudgery of moving windows around when switching between single and multiple display setups
Only negative feedback to provide is that the price point is a bit high for what it delivers. Would expect this to be in the 5 dollar range rather than 15.
Minor nitpicks:
Doesn't play well with some Microsoft apps. For example Word windows get shoved off the screen a bit. On the other hand Excel has been perfectly fine. Would expect that there are other applications that use more customized interfaces that may balk Stay's methods of window moving
Sometimes, but not always, if a window is minimized when the transition between one display setup and another occurs, that window is ignored by Stay. Minor annoyance, as you can just click on "Restore Windows" to correct, and it happens only infrequently.
Great App! Does what I need
I purchased a 27" Apple Cinema Display so I can have more screen space when using my 13" MacBook Pro. But the pain of rearranging my windows when connecting and disconnecting my display drove me nuts. Sometimes the window would be off screen and unable to be reached.
Stay did exactly what I wanted. I read before that some apps wouldn't work with Stay but luckily I haven't run into any that do that. It works perfectly. I have three display settings: MBP only, MBP and ACD, and ACD. All configurations work as soon as the display change is noticed.
I thought the price was a bit steep but the hassle of adjusting windows was worth it. I no longer dread disconnecting and connecting my display! This app rocks!
