Infused with liberal nonsense
If I wanted an app on economics or government I would have gone looking for one. If capitalism is so bad then why isn't this app free?
Instead of just teaching about ants you had to force socialism in and try and brainwash our children.
Keep your liberal agenda to yourself. I won't be buying any more of your products.
5 for the Ants, 1 For the Weird Agenda
My son and I were enjoying learning about ants and this book is well executed... And then, BLAM a message about how Capitalism is wrong.What bizarre turn.
Likes:
Reading Levels, with the top level being a very educational read aloud with my science-loving 6 year old. Lovely graphic style and unique animation. Not overly whiz-bang with interaction... But my son liked clicking occasional ant for fun facts.
Dislikes:
An ant book with a social agenda... Really? In the iTunes store, we can't flip through like at a bookstore, so we take more risks with our purchases. If you'd like to teach your kids that our society could be more like the ants... Ok, enjoy it. I'll just gloss over that with the 6 year old, and enjoy discussing the logical fallacies with our older kids... Yep, ant societies build on primal instinct are a very good analog to human society... ;-)
I'll work to avoid this sort of product in the future, if it's important to your company to be adding an agenda in like that.
Educational value
The improvements make a fantastic book truly amazing. I hope this is only the first of many apps. I use this with my second grade students. The addition I like the best is the question section. anyone can write lower level thinking questions but these are really thought provoking and can start a discussion. The levels EO comments are also a nice plus. most of my students read on their own but a couple listened to the audio. This is my favorite book app, definitely worth the price.
