Description
SyncTime is a comfortable, easy-to-use solution to synchronize your files. It allows you to easily keep all your backup copies up to date, even if they are distributed across many devices.

SyncTime covers all possible use cases, yet is designed to be simple to use. From manual, scheduled or completely automatic syncing, to background syncing, bidirectional syncs and sophisticated filters, you'll be able to set up your syncs exactly as you imagine.
You can create as many sync items as you need and customize each one individually. In the standard configuration, a sync item consists of two folders: a source and a destination. You can choose any folder reachable in the Finder: it can be located on your Mac, on an external drive, like a USB stick, or on a remote server. Among the possible options you will find:
• select several sources and destinations: all the sources will be virtually merged and copied to every destination
• four overwrite policies: overwrite only if the source file is newer than the destination file, overwrite if the source file has a different timestamp or size, always overwrite or never overwrite
• three sync types: one-way sync (copy source to destination), two-way sync (merge source and destination) and one-way move (delete the source files after a successful copy to the destination)
• remove files that don’t exist on the source anymore
• add file filters with names or tags containing specific words or matching a regular expression, or modification dates or sizes in a specific range. Matching files can be excluded, included, or linked to the source file, saving space on the destination directory
• track moved and renamed files
• background syncing: changes performed on your Mac are monitored in real time in order to keep the destination always up to date
• start to sync automatically whenever source and destination become available or set up a custom sync schedule
• every sync item can be dependent on other sync items: it will first trigger the dependencies and run automatically when they are all completed
• three backup strategies: files to be overwritten or removed can be moved to the trash, or to a custom directory, or a full, incremental copy of the destination can be made, linking unchanged files.
Other features include:
• changes have to be confirmed by default: you can inspect the files that will be added, overwritten and removed and preview them in QuickLook
• a running sync can be canceled anytime
• syncs run in parallel
• your Mac can automatically be set to sleep or shut down after all syncs have finished (requires the respective Applescripts, which you can find on the website).

Does exactly what i need, nothing more, nothing less. However...
like i said, it does exactly what i need. i want to love it but a crippling issue as arisen and that issue seems to be a memory leak. i have it set to start at login and my imac only goes to sleep, never logging out as i’m the only user. i leave the sync window open to monitor the progress. after a few days and sync routines, activity monitor shows the memory allocated to it has ballooned. on startup it consumes about 85MB with my syncs configured. after 3 days, the memory allocated had ballooned to over 20 GIGABYTES. it seems it holds all of the files it transfers but never lets them go after the transfer is complete? i only noticed this when i woke up my iMac from sleep this morning and it was acting sluggish despite only being 2 weeks old with a fresh install of High Sierra.
i’ll keep a closer eye on it over the next week and update the progress. if the problem persists, i’ll escalate it to the dev. if it doesn’t, i’ll edit this out of my review and adjust it accordingly.

Excellent Little Tool!
SyncTime is an excellent little tool, and is my go-to tool for maintaining my website, keeping it backed up, etc.
The UI is clean and intuitive and easy to use. Additionally, the developer is easily accessible and quick to respond to questions, comments, feature requests, and the like. Also, for those out there concerned with accessibility, if he's able, he'll resolve whatever issue you have. I'm a VoiceOver user and have pointed out accessibility issues, and he's been more than happy to work with me, and has ultimately gotten the issues resolved.
I'd highly recommend SyncTime to anyone interested in a nifty little tool to perform your sync and backup tasks!
App Shows Identical Files Already Present in Target Folder
I am a scientist and download many PDFs per day to my hard drive. I like sharing these with my colleagues via Dropbox so I downloaded SyncTime to ensure that the files in Source A are always going to be able to be synced with Destination in Dropbox appropriate folder. In my first check to see if SyncTime is accurate it found 320 files to add to the Destination. Yet, opening up my Path Finder Dual window, I see that all the files in the Source and Destination were all there (already) and no need to sync. Files were identical in number, filename, and date last opened. I noted the same “issue” for other recommendations to sync with other folders. SyncTime is not showing me what file is missing in the Destination folder. I do see 3 out of 11 files in the Source that are newer, so those would be appropriate for SyncTime to change in the destination folder, but not the remaining 8 files which are identical in name and date.

Thank you for your report. Are you still experiencing this issue? SyncTime compares files not by date opened, but by date modified, which usually indicates if a file has been changed.
