Thanks for the quick fix!

Downloaded the update and had no problems launching the app now. Glad to see that this critical update was able to get out so quickly!

This great app is better than ever

The History Channel has been proactive in correcting the recent flawed update. I emailed them when the update would not load. The development team contacted me and asked me to be a beta tester on the latest update. I received 2 updates to test this past Saturday. They did a great job with the latest version.

Many reviewers asked that the diary section have a highlight if the writer made an entry. No more wasted time on empty diary entries. You got it. Many reviewers asked for a way to enlarge text in the articles. You got it. You can save favorites in more ways now. I have noticed the data loads much quicker now.

I made a couple of suggestions for a future update. I was told they would be passed on to the appropriate parties. If you have any suggestions post them in a review (they are reading them) or send them an email directly.

This app is not a replacement for a treatise on the Civil War. If you want a treatise go to the book store. It is entertaining and you can learn much from it. It can be a good jumping off source if you see something of interest. It is also great that you can't cheat and jump forward in time.

My favorite sections are the diaries, newspapers and the photographs. There is just so much day to day life of the common person that you can learn. While the generals and politicians got the glory or infamy the soldier in the field or woman back home bore the burdens and heartache. It is awesome to see the war from their point of view every day.

This is the most expensive app I bought (paid full price when it first came out) but if you do the math it is only pennies per day. If you have not bought it you will spend time catching up from last April but you will not be sorry. This will be one of, if not the first, apps you go to each day if you are a history buff.

Enjoy!

Good update

Not seeing any more problems after most recent update. Incredible response to get an update out this fast knowing Apple's review process. Developer really seems to care!! I love this app and want to see more updates.
