Inspired, in equal measures, by Hurricane Katrina, Buster Keaton, The Wizard of Oz, and a love for books, “Morris Lessmore” is a story of people who devote their lives to books and books who return the favor. Morris Lessmore is a poignant, humorous allegory about the curative powers of story. Using a variety of techniques (miniatures, computer animation, 2D animation) award winning author/ illustrator William Joyce and Co-director Brandon Oldenburg present a new narrative experience that harkens back to silent films and M-G-M Technicolor musicals. “Morris Lessmore” is old fashioned and cutting edge at the same time.

Crashing constantly on ipad 1; 5 star rating if these bugs are fixed
It's a great concept. At the moment (15 Dec. 2011) it is crashing on multiple pages and we've not made it through the book once, yet. Couple relevant facts:
I'm using an Ipad 1
I've got the latest updates for the ipad and the morrislessmore book.
We closed all apps before starting up the book, so as to not have a memory problem.
Very much appreciate the creativity and hope the bugs can be fixed.
Crashes EVERY time on iPad 1 - can
** Updated 1/19/12 - If you have an iPad 1, uninstall and reinstall the updated version and reboot the iPad - you can then get through the story. I have to say the customer support guys are really responsive and helpful, and the story is great.
Original review: You gotta be kidding me guys - you charge $5 for this thing - did you even TEST it?!? I closed all apps, rebooted, everything - no dice. This is terrible. Looks like a great story but you should be ashamed of your QC.
A must buy
I honestly cannot describe how much my kids love this story. Best app/book in the entire app store. CLASSIC!
