The Night Sky does this by using your location data provided by the GPS and compass built in to your device. It then cross references your location data with its inbuilt map of the sky and overlays the stars, planets, galaxies, constellations and satellites names on your screen. ★ Sky Information Pack - the Sky Information Pack is a fantastic new feature that is jammed packed full of information about the objects you can see in The Night Sky. Want to know more about a satellite, constellation, star or planet? Well just tap the information button and get all the data on the object you will ever need!
★ Permanently Show Names - A new setting has been added to enable names and constellations to permanently stay on screen without fading away. Just go into settings to enable this.
★ Accuracy Improvements - The Night Sky is now even more accurate when tracking with the digital compass.
★ 3D Globe Location Improvement - Blue GPS dot now highlights your current selected location on the 3D globe. You can also change your location to view the sky anywhere in the world.
★ International Space Station - The International Space Station is now easier to see when enabling satellite mode as it is identified with a red symbol and text.
★ New iPad Retina Resolution - We have now increased the resolution of The Night Sky even more to match that of the New iPad! The Night Sky will always be crystal clear on your New iPad!

"oh we thank you so much for making our app so successful. In this next update you can tap on anything to learn the info on the object." yeah you guys were so thankful to your customers you decided to give them an update that gives them an opportunity to BUY the info package. Really? Even if we already bought the app, we still need to pay. You really lost me on this one, money grubbers.
Crashes
Worked great until update. Now I can't open it. Fix it and get 5 stars.

The update only adds Sky Information as an in-app purchase. Exciting if you're willing to pay for it, disappointing if you were expecting it to be free.
