Description

Things is a beautifully focused and amazingly intuitive task manager. Other todo applications either oversimplify or are too difficult to use. Things instead offers the perfect balance between ease of use and powerful features.

Effortlessly manage to-dos, notes, due dates, and projects. A smart today list and the scheduling feature allow you to work as effectively as possible - every day.

You can even sync wirelessly with the desktop version of Things (sold separately) using Wi-Fi.

Join the thousands of iPhone and iPod touch users who have made Things the most popular paid to-do manager in the App Store.

Visit our web site for a screencast to find out exactly how Things works.

“If Things sounds simple, that's because it is. Other to-do list managers I've tried have, quite honestly, gotten in the way of me getting things done. Things doesn't do that. And I wouldn't have it any other way.” -- Macworld.com, ★★★★

What an absolute joke!!

I could not agree more with all the negative reviews pouring in! I've been wondering when people were going to get fed up with this company. Looks like they're getting fed up riiight... abooout... NOW!

"Things" may be the most over-hyped, and therefore over-priced app in history, especially when coupled with its desktop version and the antiquated communication that still exists between the two. Granted, there was probably a time in the early days of the App Store when Things was able to make such bold claims about itself because there were few contenders, but those days have long since come and gone. There are now dozens of worthy ToDo apps, most of which offer far more features at a fraction of the cost... and the developers of Things are apparently the only people not aware of this. For them to tout their app as being so advanced at this stage of the game is either arrogance or ignorance.

Their updates are as rare as solar eclipses, and when each long, agonizing wait between updates is finally over, it delivers nothing more than dashed hopes once again. But they say, "Be patient... we want to be sure we get it right." Okay, is two years long enough? No? How about three? Well, plenty of other much smaller companies got it right a LONG time ago. Cultured Code still have their heads under the hood trying to perfect the Model-T, while other companies are zooming overhead in supersonic jets!

For crying out loud, the "big" release that came out a while back offered... are you ready for this... It offered... Repeating Tasks! Haha! Wow, that's their big breakthrough... Repeating Tasks? Holy Toledo, I've had repeating tasks on every one of my other ToDo apps for YEARS, and some of those apps are free!!! What a joke!

But the real joke is that even after all these years of waiting, Things STILL does not offer cloud syncing! Really?! It's 2011. How is it possible that they charge a FORTUNE for the Mac version of Things, and a very hefty price for the iPhone app... and after all that, they still haven't provided cloud syncing... and yet, a little company gives away their fantastic product called Wunderlist for FREE on both the Mac and the iPhone, and it has flawless cloud syncing built in at NO charge? Saying that you have an advanced product while still forcing customers to sync their data ONLY on the same Wifi network as their Mac, and only when their Mac is on, and only when Things is running on both devices... can anybody say Stone Age?! Why don't they just go ahead and give us a USB cable and force us to sync that way?! It's honestly just absurd.

On top of all this, the Things developers are talking about possibly CHARGING for cloud syncing whenever it is finally released. May I just say, hahahahaha!!! They are living in a fantasy world, and they need to wake up to reality! This company literally has a gold mine at their fingertips, but they are driving away untold numbers of sales with these arrogant actions. Shame on them for treating their loyal customers this way, especially after we have invested outrageous amounts of money for the iPhone and desktop versions! They are a case study in how NOT to run a company!

The other area that needs some serious redesign is the Next view. The sorting sequence on this page has absolutely NO rhyme or reason to it whatsoever. Why force the most recent entries to the TOP of all upcoming tasks? That's stupid. Maybe I just remembered something I have to do next week, and so I enter it into Things. Can anybody tell me why that task (due a week from now) should display at the TOP of all the other upcoming tasks that are due today or tomorrow? Geez! Having to manually reorder them is pointless. At least provide an option for us to CHOOSE how we want that page sorted.

There's also no way to delete all your completed tasks except to delete them one by one. So if you've got 70 or 80 completed tasks that you want to clean up, you have to swipe and delete every single one of them one at a time. Yep, they really have put a LOT of thought into this app!

Even though Things is nice to look at, I'm giving up on it because of issues like these and others. The developers of Things could take a lesson from an app I just discovered and am replacing Things for. It's called 2Do, and it is truly incredible. Flawless cloud syncing, brilliantly intuitive interface and design, perfectly working event alarms, and, oh yeah, it's smart enough to know how it should sort all the tasks!

Goodbye Things... have a nice life!

Still no cloud sync...

"...and they're going to charge for cloud sync when they finally do figure it out!

Nobody should buy until they change their mind and announce it will be free."

The fact that the above was pre-written for me by the app store says it all. Apple gave these developers their support at launch. Now, it's clear they couldn't hang. I am finally giving up hope and moving on. What a f'ing joke Things has become. Read their blog and you'll see a bunch of excuses.

Cultured Code, you all need to grow up and realize that when the game starts, the clock starts ticking. You don't get to put extra minutes on the clock.

After four years, no progress

I bought Things way back when it was promising and just out of beta, and loved it for about a year. Then it got slower... and slower... and apparently the app isn't robust enough to hold over a year's worth of to do's (in which case, what is the point of the logbook?)

Now I'm more frustrated with Things than ever. They take forever to update the app, and when they do it doesn't fix any of the app's issues or add any new features (again, what's the point?).

It still can't handle large numbers of to do's, it is unable to nest projects, and I constantly pull my hair out over syncing errors which lose your information and leave your list with little more on it than: <missing title>, <missing title>, <missing title> (Not helpful when trying to take your to do's mobile).

Just today I had to erase the app from my phone, re-download it, and re-sync it with my laptop *again* because it was <missing titles> and crashing during syncing.

I was patient to wait for Cultured Code to fix these errors, but after *years* I'm seeing it's hopeless.
