Better splitting options = 5 stars
Beautiful interface; I love the "sketchy" design. The only thing I wish they would improve is the adjustments slider.. It seems to only let you go up or down in increments of $1 to that person's *total* rather than their pre-tip meal, and I find it rather tricky to use. It would be extremely nice if they could perhaps offer an alternate drop-down menu or numerical input option (add or subtract [whatever]), or, even nicer, if you had the option to put in the item amounts per person as some other apps allow. As it is, having to look at the bill, add up roughly what everyone owes and then calculating adjustments ("okay, so bob's entree was $5 more than sue's and he had a $6 dessert, but sue had a $4 drink that Betty didn't have...") is more work than just entering the cost of the items they ordered would be.
That said, only a couple apps offer "Dutch" style bill splitting and no one seems to have perfected it yet. Other than that issue, this app is one of the most aesthetically pleasing tip calculators out there.
Great little app
Very easy and fast adjustments of variables and good UI design. For future versions I would love to be able to imput the tax so that a person can find out a tip "pre-tax" (yes, I have friends who will only tip a percentage before taxes are allowcated).
The best tip calculator so far...
I tried a few others and this one I like the most. Other tip calculators like to use slider for tip percentage which is very cumbersome because you keep sliding your finger back and forth to get precisely where you want it. This "Tip Calculator" follows Apple's interface spec and is easier to select and scroll through tip percentage. Also it memorizes the last tip percentage you selected, unlike others. Another feature I like is "tip round up" which you can setup inside the preference to make it permanent. This is a welcome feature for those restaurants accept only cash or if you decide to leave cash tip.
