Excellent
I started off using Things and Omnifocus. I then moved to Appigo's Todo (which I think is great, btw). Toodledo gives me added flexibility. I love the contexts and tags. It's not quite as visually appealing as Todo, but I like the power and flexibility. I think it's tags that really sold me. Looking forward to future features and updates.
Almost perfect...
Having tried literally all the other to-do list managers, this one is almost perfect for what I need allowing me to delete the other app that allowed sync'ing to online services. Only complaints are (1) This is the only real app issue - the app needs the date selection for a task to be relative and/or selected via a calendar. Current method of date selection is archaic. (2) Editing a task could a little smoother. (3) Would like an option to sync only on exit if possible - sync on open can take too long before allowing user to create a new task (true of all sync'ing lists). (4) Ability to configure a default application launch screen (e.g. directly to Hotlist).
Automatic Online Sync
I've tried the others such as Things, 2Do and Taska. 2Do is the best looking to me, but they can't seem to get an iPad version out! Taska is very attractive, but I haven't figured out how to make the most of it, and there is ZERO support documentation or training materials on their website. Things is WAY overpriced and doesn't sync online!
Three advantages to Toodledo...
1. You only have to buy it once. The online service is free and the iPad app is universal, so you can buy it once and install on your iPhone and iPad.
2. Push alarms / reminders. Other to do apps like Things and Taska don't seem to think this is something users want. The folks who make Things told me they have no plans to support them.
3. Automatic Online Sync. 2Do and Taska offer online sync, and they do a good job. One problem...you have to manually trigger it! Everytime! Forget and that last todo you entered won't be there when you pick up your iPad. Toodledo allows you to set it to "Sync on startup" and "Sync on edit". This means you open it on your iPhone and it auto syncs...instantly mirroring what you have on toodledo.com. Add or edit a todo item...it auto sends it. Set your iPhone down and pick up your iPad...you guessed it. Auto sync and your list looks exactly as you left it on the iPhone.
The only disadvantage I see is it's not as pretty as the others. The icon is horrible and the UI is never going to win awards.
If you want effortless synchronization between your computer, iPhone and iPad...I think this is your solution.
