Matthew Muckey joined the New York Philharmonic in June 2006 as associate principal trumpet. He graduated from Northwestern University with a bachelors degree in music, studying with Charles Geyer and Barbara Butler. A native of Sacramento, California, he has appeared as soloist with the Omaha Symphony, Sacramento Philharmonic, California Wind Orchestra, Northwestern University Symphony Orchestra, and on NPRs program, From the Top. He has also played with the Boston Pops Orchestra, New World Symphony, and Chicago Civic Orchestra.
Mr. Muckey was a Fellow at the Tanglewood Music Center during the summers of 2003 to 2005, and was the recipient of the Roger Voisin Award in 2004 and 2005.

What a great app! So much great info on here, perfect for any level musician to expand their knowledge...and not just about the trumpet! And Matthew sounds INCREDIBLE on all of the audio files and videos! Wish I could sound even half as good as him some day!

Trumpets Rock
Been a fan of Matt Muckey for a while now so I am very happy to see his instruction in this application. The Audio files are simply amazing and I am looking forward to more video instruction on a more challenging level.
