Twitbit is a beautifully designed Twitter client for iPhone and iPod Touch with built-in push notifications. Twitbit is designed to keep the simple things simple. The most important features are never more than a tap away.
Twitbit was the first full-featured Twitter iPhone app to provide full support for push notifications. You'll be sent an alert when you receive a direct messages or when you're mentioned. Twitbit also supports configuring whether alerts are received for mentions and direct messages individually, on a per-account basis. Don't want push notifications at all? Just turn them off in Settings.

The best Push service for twitter
I've tried tweetings, boxcar and twitbit comparing the push service. Twitbit is the fastest push notification client for twitter under 3G and wifi, by now. I've deleted the other 2. Also has the best design only comparable with the official twitter app. I don't give 5* because it has the settings divided between the app itself and the General Settings panel.
Offer Twitlong!
So far I have tried out 3 twitter apps including this one. I feel this is the best out of the 3. I am very satisfied with this app and dont plan on looking anymore. I use this app everyday.
The biggest thing I love about this app is the Mention and Direct message notification! Im talkin it uses the Iphone's PUSH technology. So when someone mentions you, this app notifies you. It looks similar to a text message on the Iphone. To me NO twitter app beats that.
Most twitter apps u have to open the app to see if you if someone has mentioned you.
Offer twitlong then this app will be THE BEST! I feel ALL twitter apps should offer Twitlong. NOT all people have a message to tweet that 140 characters or less.

i only bought this because it states it has "PUSH" ....NO it doesnt ...it doesnt notify you of anything its just like the free Twitter apps ... waste of money
