This game is quite good. Played forever trying to get all of the OpenFeint points. Tons of hours of good gameplay for a $0.99, which is all you can really ask for IMHO.
Comprehensive Review.
Ultimate Hold'em poker is very much in-line with what the description lays out. It is the popular casino game that you all know and love. That being said, I've gone through and verified all of the bullet items listed in the description and it is a very accurate account (feature-wise) of the game. The graphics, for me, get a B, the gameplay gets a B+. Fancier card animations would be nice, but it is a $0.99 game. The most redeeming feature about this game is the replayability. It reminds me a lot of solitaire on my PC in that when i am bored, I always come back to it to kill a few minutes. The social networking features of the game are cool as well. I tied it together with my facebook account and it did news feed updates rather nicely. Did not try Twitter, but I'm sure it works similarly. After about 15 hours of total gameplay, my highest score was $19640. The game keeps personal highs as well as global high scores, but I wanted to throw that out there so you guys know what to expect. All together, it was a clean, fun game. Looking forward to more bells and whistles in the future. I will hold my 5th star until then. :)
UPDATE 9/30: tried Twitter. Worked a lot like Facebook. One small request though, can we get on Feint account to link to BOTH Twitter and Facebook at the same time?
UPDATE 12/4: Another update to Feint it appears. Seems a little snappier. More chat messages are now viewable in the chat screens. Will there be landscape support guys? What about timestamps?
UPDATE 1/4: Was the merry Xmas message the Easter egg?
UPDATE: 1/13: New OpenFeint really rules. This version was a huge addition that included forums and fan clubs. Really neat. This game is now up to 4.5 stars. ;)
UPDATE: 2/5: I noticed that the high scores in the leaderboard must have been reset. Any reason ChewSoft?
UPDATE: 2/17: Alas, all Feint points acheived. Easter egg unlocked. Funny, really funny. More achievements in the future?
UPDATE: 3/25: Nice new features. Better sounds and the gameplay animations are crisper.
UPDATE: 6/8: Works great on a iPad. Can you make the volume louder IF it is an iPad??
UPDATE: 8/16: Graphics looked optimized for the iPhone 4. Icon, game graffics, the works. SPOILER ALERT: There is an hidden unlockable achievement at 10k hands played!!
UPDATE: 8/27: Another hidden achievement at 15k!!!! Been playing way too much lately.
UPDATE: 12/18: I found the 1M chip. Very useful now that I've broken $55,000,000.
UPDATE: 4/23: No achievement for 150k games played? :)
