Technically speaking, Uzu is a kinetic multitouch particle visualizer. Really it’s a sort-of math-physics-art-toy for anyone who ever loved spirographs, fireworks, planetariums, lava lamps, light sabers, pen lasers, tesla coils, christmas lights, or graphing calculators.
Points of light will shoot across the screen and fly to your command, twirling in a vortex of color and motion. Freeze and move Uzu in 3d space while contorting spirographic curves with your fingers. Uzu lets you quickly switch between 10 different modes of real-time animation by simply changing the number of touches you're using. You can spend countless hours discovering the many unique ways of playing and interacting with Uzu.
Uzu is very happy when multiple people touch it. Uzu loves parties, children, music, cats, and pubs – although not necessarily in that order. Uzu has many plans for the future, but Uzu would like to hang out with you now if that’s cool.

Wow... Just wow.
I have always enjoyed Uzu. I find it soothing and it stimulates me creatively. I especially like letting my two year old niece fiddle about with it, as it's genius use of multitouch with up to ten fingers allows her to experiment with the iPad in any way she sees fit. Uzu long ago secured a permanent residence on my iPads front screen, which is a very privileged location.
I THOUGHT it was perfect as it was.
I was wrong.
Now, I am not an intelligent person. Plus, I'm a a mechanic, and you know how our language can be. My vocabulary is limited and I am thus at a bit of a loss for words in how to explain my satisfaction with the 2.0 update. This is, after all, a family friendly environment. I will take a page out of Papa Smurf's book and simply say that THIS SMURFING UPDATE IS SMURFING AWESOME!!! THE NEW SMURFING MODES MADE ME NEARLY SMURF MY PANTS!!! EVERY OTHER VISUALIZER CAN GO SMURF ITSELF CAUSE UZU IS THE SMURFING SMURFINGEST MOTHERSMURFER OF THEM ALL!!!
Keep up the great work. Oh, and my niece would say thank you if she could, I'm sure. That's how good a software developer you are. She can't even talk, but she can use and understand your ingenious little app. That is some good design.
Bring back FREEZE!
This was one of my favorite apps before the last update. I made so many cool images I could set as my background. Many people I showed it to were very impressed. When the new update came out I was super psyched to see all the new features.
Then I noticed that the "auto freeze" function was absent in the new release. Since then I've played with it one or two times but that's it. If that feature doesn't come back this will eventually end up in the delete pile... cool as it is... unless I can save some of the cool patterns I don't have a lot of use for it.

Uzu is, blah blah blah. No, that's not quite right. This this is like the Hadron Particle Accelerator for your subconcious - a little doorway that let's you wander away and come back feeling as if you may have learned something. The 2.0 update is confusing and fascinating, adding smart features and a powerful array of presets that will dazzle and delight.
Only some developers seem to get what fullscreen multitouch surfaces are for. These guys do, and I'm definitely enjoying the ride!
